| | Vanessa Williams Everlasting Love CD Vanessa Williams Discography of CDs
(10 Customer Reviews)
What started out as Vanessa Williams roaming through her old record collection became EVERLASTING LOVE, an all-covers album of 1970s love songs. One of the most impressive things about this particular project is how Williams went somewhat off the beaten path in choosing material. In hooking up with longtime musical arranger Rob Mathes, the native New Yorker has slipped her smooth and supple voice into pristine arrangements that emanate romantic vibes. Williams's notable choices range from a subtle, bossa nova-flavored take on Stevie Wonder's "Send One Your Love" to a stripped-down version of "Midnight Blue" that would do Melissa Manchester proud. George Benson (whose '70s jazz-to-pop crossover songs made him a household name) contributes guitar to a Quiet Storm-like "Never Can Say Goodbye," giving a more mature sheen to this Jackson 5 smash. Benson's presence is also ideal when he plays Billy Preston to Williams's Syreeta on a rendition of "With You I'm Born Again" that perfectly fits the duo's vocal styles.

Everlasting Love Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Beautiful I have always liked Vanessa Williams music, acting, etc. So when I heard she was going to make a retro cd, I wondered how she was going to make these songs into smooth jazz, but I was not disappointed, she really does an excellent job on this album. I like Never Can Say Goodbye, One Less Bell, Everlasting Love. Her voice soars on this album. I recommend this album, you will not be sorry. Glad She Is Back Even though this is Vanessa singing the hits of other artist...she did a very good job of it. He voice is always welcomed in my CD player. The selection of songs she decided to put on this CD is great. They are some of my favorites. Submitted by mcgowan (Okinawa, Japan) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Purchase Everlasting Love CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Anita Baker My Everything CD (2004)
Everlasting Love
$11.69 Anita Baker first garnered a big audience in 1986 with her second record, RAPTURE. A critical favorite with a uniquely raspy, jazz-like expressionistic singing style, she scored a major pop and R&B hit with "Sweet Love." From that initial success, Baker carved ...
| | Hall & Oates Our Kind Of Soul CD (2004)
Everlasting Love
$10.95 Daryl Hall and John Oates sold millions of records in the 1970s and '80s by fusing their soul influences with contemporary pop production, so it's only fitting that decades down the road they would pay tribute to those influences via OUR KIND OF SOUL. Most of the album is made up of the duo's cover versions of classic soul/R&B tunes. Instead of slavishly recreating the original arrangements, though, ...

Everlasting Love
$17.69 Jamaican dancehall veteran Buju Banton has featured duets with a wide array of artists on his albums right from the beginning, and this two-disc 33-track compilation from VP Records collects several of them in one convenient package. There's none of the slackness here that brought Banton his first taste of fame (and controversy), and his remarkable (and critically lauded) conversion to socially conscious material is well in evidence. Buju's gruff-voiced DJ stance has always been stronger than ...
