On this atmospheric set, Italian pianist Salvatore Bonafede performs a set of themes from the film The Leopard. While a few of the melodies are brief and act as transitions (particularly a couple Verdi pieces), there are some strong compositions here that are uplifted by the superior trumpet and flügelhorn playing of Enrico Rava. Rava sometimes sounds a bit like Miles and at other times drops the coolness for some hotter solos. Guitarist John Abercrombie also adds to the atmosphere, as does guest acoustic guitarist Ralph Towner. It is not unusual to see Ken with at least 2-3 of his favorite guitars accompany him on stage-each with their own unique qualities and tonal nuggets just waiting to resonate. He does all of his recording, as well as that of others, at Graceworks Recording, his 24 track digital, project recording studio.Of prime importance to Ken, is that the spiritual element woven throughout his music would resonate clearly-and it does.
