A major hit on the European film festival circuit, Ditto Tsintsadze's "poetic thriller" will keep you on the edge from the startling beginning to the jaw-dropping final shot. A young man sits alone on a bus. A beautiful young woman drops a note in his lap as she walks by. It says simply, "help me." But what help could she, a self-assured martial arts student, ever need? And how could he, a gentle pacifist who delivers meals to the elderly, ever help her? Yet as our hero follows after her, his bizarre journey begins. Does he become a rescuing knight falling in love? Or a psychotic killer descending into madness? And is there even a difference? Lukas is a pacifistic young man, fulfilling his civil service obligation by delivering food to the elderly rather than spending time in the military. While on the bus, a mysterious but beautiful woman, Isabella, drops a note into his lap. This strange encounter leads Lukas to follow Isabella around, and the two begin a bizarre, uncommunicative but strangely intimate relationship. Growing frustrated, Lukas begins to suspect Isabella's stepfather of a terrible crime, and takes a drastic step towards punishing him. GUN-SHY (SCHUSSANGST) is a study in modern alienation, shot in a distancing style to reinforce its theme, and was a hit on the European film festival circuit.

$11.05 Based on the memoir of French police detective Roger Borniche, this hard-boiled crime story was directed by noir master Jacques Deray. Emile Buisson (Jean-Louis Trintignant) became a notorious criminal when he escaped from prison in 1947 after his wife and child died. Traumatized and psychopathic, Buisson eluded the authorities by killing anyone he suspected of informing. Overburdened cop Borniche (Alain Delon, PLEIN SOLEIL) is assigned the case, and he tracks ...
