Closed Captioned; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles; Director's Comments This sequel to the 1957 film "Peyton Place" once again focuses on the residents of the small New England town. Although everything seems picture-perfect, there are actually still many troubles brewing within the village -- some of them exacerbated by Allison MacKenzie's new novel, which reveals many of her neighbor's secrets. Among the other characters returning from the first movie are Connie (Allison's mother) and Selena Cross, who is still trying to overcome the painful memory of being raped... An aspiring writer shocks Peyton Place when her book about the town's deepest secrets and steamy passions makes the best seller list. Shot in CinemaScope. Color by DeLuxe.
Released theatrically in New York City May 5, 1961.

Return to Samuel`s Castle. I read Grace Metalious`s Peyton Place books, more than twenty years ago,and was too young to be admitted to the movies when they opened respectively in 1957 and 1961.I arrived on this earth in 1950.So eventually I purchased the video of Peyton Place with Lana Turner and watched Return to Peyton Place on the tv.I found them both relatively faithful to the books, and recently I purchased the new DVD of Return to Peyton Place with it`s very informative extras. As I watched the movie last night it still held my interest, the quality was excellent in both picture and sound. The performances were fine from the new cast standing in for the Lana Turner cast, except that Eleanor Parker was given little to do as Constance MacKenzie except berate her now successful author-daughter and worry about her going off to New York on her own.But had`nt Alison gone away in the previous movie and returned all grown up in copy of Dior fashions and smoking cigarettes to maintain her chic?
So what was Connie worrying about. Not very good continuity on Fox`s part. Also
am I or am I not mistaken that Mary Astor originally set fire to her daughter in law Luciana Palluzi`s bed
while she slept carrying her son Brett Halsey`s child, and blaming the fire on Luciana`s smoking in bed. This scene is on the original posters and print, but was deleted from this new DVD release.
Can anyone out there clarify this for me
because there are still several references in the movie to Luciana`s careless smoking habits.
Having said all this I thoroughly enjoyed the movie again, and all the wonderful extras.I hope that other fan`s of Grace Metalious and the screenplays that followed her successful novels will purchase this DVD!If only to experience the stellar performance of Mary Astor as the sinister Roberta Carter. Return To Peyton Place movie DVD
$8.55 THE SOUNDTRACKIn 2000, The Color Guard unfurled a flag declaring allegiance to imaginative, gutsy, and beautiful song-making. They've since woven tales of Eastern concubines, tracked churning hurricanes, channeled imaginary lovers of Biblical heroines, spoken in tongues, seen fractal visions without the aid of drugs, and had titillating dreams...about you. From their debut EP through two fabulously entertaining albums and the new Cornucopia, New York's most inventive co-ed pop foursome has created a sound where spheres of prog, metal, psychedelia, and first-rate pop intersect. Cornucopia couples an EP of six plump and juicy new songs with a live show DVD. Fans of The Color Guard know to expect a little of the unexpected from this group of friendly, unabashed eccentrics. Loath to disappoint, on Cornucopia the crew parades out an exotic love song in Spanish and a majestic psychedelic instrumental. This on top of the requisite math-rock opener and three hit-worthy pop gems. They bring in a harvest ripe with their classic harmonies, saber-rattling guitar riffs, masterful lyrics, and underlying sense of humor. THE NARRATIVE Lalena Fissure pulled up her Texas roots in the late '90s to study art at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Leaving her year-old punk band Catbox behind, she was left with a rock'n'roll-shaped hole in her heart. So she co-founded The Hissyfits, and they rehearsed on days Lalena wasn't at work in artist Matthew Barney's studio. After a solid three years singing, writing, and playing bass in the superb all-female pop band, Lalena's alternate personality began to ooze out. She'd inexplicably blurt out "Tull, dude!" at inappropriate moments; she appeared at Punk/Metal Karaoke singing Rush; she was spotted pumping her fist at Melvins and Kittie concerts. So finally little Bilbo could contain her wanderlust no longer, so she added a six-string to her pack and ventured out on a new quest: one that would present excitement and wonder all along the way.Lalena found a longtime travel companion in bassist Jeanne Gilliland. With a playing style that ventures into baroque, and a supernatural ability to chat up any stranger, Midwesterner Jeanne works by day as one of the few female boom operators in Local 52, flexing her muscles for shows like Oz and Law & Order. When the two met, Lalena had started work a designer on the TV show Blue's Clues, so they had more than just music in common. With two friends on lead guitar and drums, they called their quest The Color Guard, for the unity, ceremony and vibrance of their vision. Their debut EP, which they packaged in a homemade colored vinyl sleeve, drew them comparisons to Throwing Muses and The Breeders. At their performances at local art spaces like Galapagos and Good/Bad, and clubs like Arlene's and Luna Lounge, they raffled off whole hams and eligible bachelors to raise funds ...
