Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth & Hugh Grant return in the hilarious sequel to Bridget Jones' Diary. It would be difficult to top the phenomenal success of BRIDGET JONES' DIARY, but the sequel certainly pulls it off. The incomparable Renée Zellweger (JERRY MACGUIRE, COLD MOUNTAIN) once again breathes hilarious life into the flawed heroine who sent her career soaring. This installment of Bridget's journal finds her dealing with the growing pains of a new relationship with Mark Darcy, her crush from the first film (stilted but passionate Colin Firth). Though wildly in love with him, Bridget, a TV producer, worries off and on that Mark and his stuffy attorney crowd may not be quite her cup of tea. When she attends an important law function as Mark's date, she manages to embarrass herself and offend his snobby colleagues. To top it off, Mark's gorgeous and willowy coworker Rebecca (Jacinda Barrett) seems to have a knack for showing up at just the wrong time. When Bridget finally asks Mark outright if he's having an affair with the leggy Rebecca, he refuses to answer. Bridget jets off in a huff, and it appears the relationship is officially on the rocks. To further complicate matters, her cute and caddish former love Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) asks her to join him on-location in Thailand for a TV shoot--another chance at romance for Bridget Jones.
Zellweger makes the film completely her own, and provides some quintessential "Bridget" moments--Bridget trying to walk up a flight of stairs in heels, Bridget careening down a mountain on skis, or Bridget tripping on magic mushrooms on a Thai beach. Brilliantly rehashing this unforgettable character, the sequel is a pleasure to watch that easily matches the original. THEATRICAL RELEASE: NOVEMBER 12, 2004 Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason Reviews: "Bridget is still lovable..."-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times "Grant gives what must be his funniest and most sexy performance ever..."-- Carina Chocano, Los Angeles Times "[T]he movie keeps its focus on the Bridget, Mark, and Daniel we now know so familiarly, via crowd-pleasers Zellweger, Firth, and Grant."

$16.89 The title refers to the night when three men, Randy (Matt Dillon), his cousin Carl (Paul Reiser) and Detective Dehling (John Goodman), all meet Jewel Valentine (Liv Tyler) at a bar called McCool's. Actually, they don't so much meet her as fall under her spell when they first lay eyes on her. In her clinging red dress she looks like a cross between a beautiful damsel in distress and the Lady In Red looking for John Dillinger. The story begins with Randy, desperate to be rid of Jewel, hiring a sleazy hitman, played by Michael Douglas in an outré toupee. His story of how Jewel led him to ruin, filmed in a stylized ...

Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason film
$7.75 In the screen adaptation of BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY, Helen Fielding's international best-selling phenomenon, documentary filmmaker (and real-life inspiration for the character Shazzer) Sharon Maguire has managed a rare feat--a film as captivating as the novel. Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) is a pretty and neurotic thirtysomething "singleton" (in her vernacular) who vows to take control of her life after being humiliated by handsome, standoffish barrister, Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) at her parents' New Year's party. Determined to lose weight, and cut ...

Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason video
$11.09 Hollywood's tradition of remaking classic movies continues with this 21st-century updating of the 1976 romp, THE BAD NEWS BEARS. Acclaimed director Richard Linklater (THE SCHOOL OF ROCK, DAZED AND CONFUSED) pays respect to Michael Ritchie's original film by updating it rather than reinventing it. Stepping into the tough-to-fill shoes of Walter Matthau, Billy Bob Thornton plays the liquor-swilling, foulmouthed Morris Buttermaker, who has agreed to coach a Little League team for the paycheck. Unfortunately for him, his assembled team consists of the league's most inept outcasts. Gradually, however, Buttermaker's determination wins out, to the point where he recruits an ex-girlfriend's gifted daughter, Amanda Whurlitzer (Sammi Kane Kraft), to step onto the pitcher's mound. The team is complete when local bad boy Kelly Leak (Jeffrey Davies) lends his overflowing talent to the cause. Soon, the Bears are climbing their way to the top of the standings, resulting in a championship showdown with the Yankees, who are managed by the ridiculously ...

Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason movie DVD
$9.65 Another teen-flavored Shakespeare adaptation in a lineage that includes ROMEO + JULIET (1997), 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU (1999), and O (2001), SHE'S THE MAN takes an even lighter approach to TWELFTH NIGHT than the bard himself, but throws a curve by mixing its inherent gender-switch romance with a feel-good girl power sports element. Amanda Bynes (WHAT A GIRL WANTS) is Viola, a high schooler who just wants to play soccer, even though her mother (Julie Hagerty) is prepping her for a debutante ball. After the girls' soccer team is eliminated from her school just before the start of the school year, she finds that her brother, also a soccer player, is ditching the beginning of the semester to go to London with his band. Viola decides to go in his place---as a boy--and prove that she can make it on the team. However, she doesn't count on falling for hunky jock Duke (Channing Tatum, SUPERCROSS), whom she befriends and reluctantly attempts to aid in wooing beautiful and popular Olivia (Laura Ramsey).
Though the credits list Shakespeare as its inspiration, the script--by Ewan Leslie, Karen McCullah Lutz, and Kirsten Smith--owes more to the perennial cable TV classic JUST ONE OF THE GUYS (1985), in which a female student goes undercover at a rival high school ...
