Otto Klemperer conducts the New Philharmonia Chorus and Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall in 1964 with soloists Agnes Giebel, Marga Hoeffgen, Ernst Haefiger, and Gustav Neidlinger. One of the 20th century's best-known orchestral conductors, OTTO KLEMPERER first found fame in his native Germany, but was later forced to flee to the United States. Once there he conducted some of the most prominent symphony orchestras, including ones in Los Angeles and New York. With this collection, classical music enthusiasts can view for themselves why Klemperer was considered one of the greatest conductors of his time. The performance recorded here features the New Philharmonia of London in 1964, playing a selection of pieces by Beethoven.
