Someday Mourning music CDs
$14.65 Taylor Swift abandons any pretense that she's a teen on her second album, FEARLESS--which isn't to say that she suddenly tarts herself up, running away from her youth in a manner that's all too familiar to many teen stars. Swift's maturation is deliberate and careful, styled after the crossover country-pop of Shania Twain and Faith Hill before they turned into divas. Despite the success of her self-titled 2006 debut, there's nothing at all diva-like about Swift on FEARLESS: she's soft-spoken and considerate, a big sister instead of a big star. Nowhere is this truer than on "Fifteen," a kind warning for a teen to watch her heart sung from the perspective of a woman who's perhaps twice that age--a sly trick for the 18-year-old Swift. There may be ...

| | Abi Tapia One Foot Out The Door CD (2005)
Someday Mourning album
$18.95 The new CD from Abi Tapia is here! Produced by Chris Gage at his MoonHouse Studio in Austin, it features 12 new songs about love, leavin', and coming home. The creation of this music has been a year-long road trip with Abi (vocals, guitar and harmonica) driving and Chris Gage (producer, engineer, guitars, keys and vocals) sitting shotgun with the maps. They picked up a few hitchhikers along the way including Glenn Fukunaga (bass), Paul Pearcy (drums), Eamon McLoughlin and Kym Warner of The Greencards (violin and mandolin), Mike Hardwick (steel guitars), and Brittani and Tiffani Ginn (harmony vocals). These musicians have contributed to albums from the Dixie Chicks, Eliza Gilkyson, Jimmy Dale Gilmore and countless others. Abi Tapia happily calls Austin home, but to say she's simply a Texas songwriter wouldn't give the whole story. The daughter of musicians, Abi was born in Alabama and lived until she was fifteen in various towns around the Southeast and Texas. She has since lived in the Midwest (where she was a Sociology major at Grinnell College) and New England (where ...
| | Captain Gravel Mountain Lair CD (2006)
Someday Mourning CD music
$15.19 With their all-acoustic instrumentation, vintage suits, and 30's-era single microphone, Captain Gravel could easily be mistaken for "just another bluegrass band" - that is, until they start to play. True, the Seattle-based band has no qualms about tearing into a fast-paced bluegrass tune or an old-time gospel number. But the five bandmates share musical tastes too eclectic to stop there: Audiences at Captain Gravel shows often find themselves dancing to Binkle Roberts' banjo-driven Dixieland jazz numbers, or the original songs and instrumentals ...

$18.95 Steady P (a.k.a. - Greg Pace)Steady P began his musical career at a very early age, learning to play tunes by ear on his aunt's piano and singing with the church choir in his hometown of Gary, Indiana. At 12, he began formal musical training as a saxophonist in the school marching band and jazz stage band. By age 17, he had gained numerous awards and was the state's leading high school soloist. During Steady's high school years, he also began singing, playing the sax and bass guitar with "Soul Express"; a popular semi-professional band that toured the mid-west. The group gigged routinely and frequently opened for professional acts that came to Gary and Chicago. It was during this period when Steady began to write original songs. In 1977, Steady passed on an opportunity to go to the Juliard School of Music and accepted an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy. Although the school offered no curriculum for music, Steady remained active in music through various extra-curricular groups and clubs. During the four years at the Academy, he performed and toured with the men's glee club and the Protestant choir. Steady also sang, played bass and keyboards with the Academy's top-40 stage band, "Variations". Amongst all this activity, ...
