5 stars but a large orchestra is a kind of cheating
Yes Beethoven wrote the symphonies for this number of musicians, and with brisk tempi These are excellent versions with feeling but objetive, very well conducted by Gielen who is a great conductor but not a mediatic one. Making the orchestra larger and slowing tempos in the name of "tradition" of certain conductors to make his Orchestra sound sumptuos and grandiose,is a kind of cheating or at less a betray to the intentions of the composer.

Is good election if your selection is not great philarmonic or sinfonic ochestra ( in number of musicians), good sonid for number of instruments in this ochestra.
