Yes - 9012 Live Movie Review Average Rating: (4.1 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Worth The Wait! I don't know what took them so long to release this on DVD, but it was well worth the wait. I have owned the VHS version since it's original release and have always wanted it to come out on DVD. To my surprise, it includes the director's cut of the concert, which is the full concert without all the silly visual effects that were in the original version of the concert. It also includes interviews with the band members and a backstage look at the band. If you liked the "90125" lineup, then this is a must have for your collecton. Long overdue! Having bought and repeatedly watched the original VHS 20 years ago, I must say this couldn't have been a better DVD. Nice to finally see the show without so much stock footage. And the interviews - I learned many things about Yes that weren't in any of the books about them. Good stuff for the true fan. Submitted by patrickmoody1 (Tampa, FL) Was This Review Helpful? Remembering the Rabin years. The DVD version of 9012 live brings back a piece of history that Yes can't denied. The inspiration they had after 90125 with the new sound of those years is proof that during the eighthies Yes was able to write songs that would pass the test of time.I am saying this in 2006, I know now that my son who is 11 years old likes those tunes better than some music of his own.All the bonus pieces including the version of Roundbout are nice to have for those who follow Yes all these years. The songs previous to Rabin are so well managed by all five members that the spirit of Yes is there with a twist that we all know is Rabin's stamp, which is also true when Wakeman does his own interpretations of the songs previous to his era.One thing that is clear is that the band is 20 years younger and that brings a sound that is a little different from today. Yes has always stand the test of time and that means that in the future ,we hope ,we will have more recordings that we will talk about . Enjoy the DVD.

Yes. . .it's finally here. . it can happen After over a year of anticipation 9012Live has arrived in DVD form in the USA. A true 80's Yes performance that brings back brilliant guitar work and harmonies. The only thing missing here is Rick Wakeman, Geoff Downes and Steve Howe. Too bad they all didn't group together and form a master version of Yes. Could you imagine? Great songs that bring back a wonderful feeling, not to mention the DVD picture and sound quality that rival a live performance. The bonus material is another plus. Time to put my 20 year old VHS copy in the vault. Changes is my fave but all the songs are great! Enjoy! Submitted by carey c (KC, MO USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Turn up the Volume! This is an excellent concert. I too had it on VHS at one time. It relives YES during the 80's pop era, when they were energenic and mixed old with new hits, thus increasing their fan base with a younger generation (me). Although the quality of the sound in Dolby 2.0 stereo is fine, the Dolby 5.1 surround seems compressed and not mixed well. So much so, that you have to turn up the volume knob 1/3 higher or more to get the same output. There are some candid and interesting moments in the bonus scenes that are worth while for YES fans. A new Yes box is like a new Star Trek film. The same core group will buy it/see it whether it's crap or not, resulting in an endless cycle of repackaging that exploits the fans who made the franchises so popular in the first place. Yes have always seemed more of an industry than a band, so it comes as no surprise that their deeply rooted PR machine has dug up another collection of "previously unreleased gems," wrapped it in one of Roger Dean's hippie/sci-fi landscapes, and slapped on an exhaustive ...
