Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; Limited Edition Loosely based on the life story of Syd Barrett, Pink Floyd's original front man (who was kicked out of the band for his bizarre and disturbing behavior only to go insane shortly thereafter), PINK FLOYD: THE WALL stars Bob Geldof as Pink, a mentally damaged man who has gone from a hopeful child artist to a burned-out rock star drifting away from reality. As Pink festers in his hotel room, elements of his abusive childhood come back to haunt him until he begins to descend into absolute madness.
Director Alan Parker's intense and fully realized film interpretation of the English band's classic album THE WALL melds whimsical fantasy with dark Shakespearean drama. The film makes innovative use of sets, costumes, and special effects to create a unique surrealistic strangeness worthy of Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dali's UN CHIEN ANDALOU. Both disturbing and bedazzling, PINK FLOYD: THE WALL is a must-see film for any music lover. Pink Floyd - The Wall Quotes/Excerpts: "We don't need no education.
We don't need no thought control.
No dark sarcasm in the classroom.
Teacher, leave those kids alone.
Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone.
All in all you're just another
Brick in the wall." -- ROGER WATERS Pink Floyd - The Wall Reviews: "...Elaborate camera effects and a quarter-hour of full-color animation....One of the most captivating and unusual assemblages of footage seen in a long time..."
-- Silv., Variety "...Parker has brought plenty of energy to this project, and he has done his resourceful best to make it an overpowering experience....A shameless all-out assault on the senses..."
-- Janet Maslin, New York Times "At the core of this bleak psychodrama is Bob Geldof's acting debut as rockstar Pink..."
-- Mojo Staff, Mojo "[With] the Floyd's music set to powerful visuals, including startling Gerald Scarfe animations."
-- Uncut Staff, Uncut Pink Floyd - The Wall Movie Review Average Rating: (4.2 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews The Wall I Remember When I first watched the Wall, it was at once disturbing and insightful. Looking into the mind of a man going and gone mad was sad and slightly disturbing. Having the movie based in reality and within the bounds of the psychadelic genre of music was insightful as to how it could come to pass. From loss and torment during childhood up through his adult years, "Sid" dwindled down the road of insanity.
With the music being such a huge part of the movie and the story, it only adds to the experience of the film.
Overall, I think the movie is one to watch.
It has been a mainstay within the drug culture and has remained a cult classic since it's release. Submitted by Fred (North Bergen, NJ. USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Beautiful, disturbing!!!!! Excellent film, The Scarfe animation is amazing. Allan Parker has never been better. Probably the most UNDERATED film ever released. Its idiotic to say you must be stoned or tripping for it to be understood. Those people are idiots that do not understand stmbolism or the expert use of metaphore, wich this film relies on, EXCELLENT,
SHINE ON!!! Submitted by latuff (hastings,mn,usa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.

Pink Floyd Melts My Walls Pink Floyd sober or not is a shattared fragment of what Pink Floyd was. And instill in us a memory of a time when music was not so disposable and was held actual meaning.
p.s acid does not make you a creep or a liar, being so opinionated and stuckup that would make such a comment says way more about you then anyone else. Submitted by mattm (charlottetown P.E Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

THE WALL was Roger Waters' crowning accomplishment in Pink Floyd. It documented the rise and fall of a rock star (named Pink Floyd), based on Waters' own experiences and the tendencies he'd observed in people around him. By now, the bassist had firm control of the group's direction, working mostly alongside David Gilmour and bringing in producer Bob Ezrin as an outside collaborator. Drummer Nick Mason was barely involved, while keyboardist Rick Wright seemed to be completely out of the picture. Still, THE WALL was a mighty, sprawling affair, featuring 26 songs with vocals--nearly as many as all previous Floyd albums combined.
The story revolves around the fictional Pink Floyd's isolation ...

$9.79 Based on a true story, this film is both a riveting courtroom drama and a first class chiller. A Catholic Priest (Tom Wilkinson) is on trial for homicidal negligence after performing a failed exorcism on Emily Rose, devout college girl (Jennifer Carpenter) now dead from assorted wounds and malnutrition. Laura Linney plays Erin Bruner, the priest's defense lawyer, and Campbell Scott plays the chief prosecutor, who argues persuasively that Emily was likely suffering from psychotic epilepsy and could have been saved with hospitalization and medicine. The demonic possession unfolds in a series of spine-tingling flashbacks ...
