| An anthology not quite right for a worthy artist.
Motown Anthology buy CD music I have waited for years to have a comprehensive collection of Brenda's Motown recordings. Motown Anthology songs Almost made it. Motown Anthology album for sale My copy (at least) has a distorted version of her big and blissful hit "Every little bit hurts" It is as if they took a monaural version and tried unsuccessfully to make it a simulated stereo version. The sound in this track is frustratingly uneven. A couple of other songs have some distortion or poor sound quality, but not as bad. Missing in this collection is "Tell me your story" a fine, soulful piece. Why they would omit this song and include the promo "Play it cool, stay in school" is simply beyond me. Likewise, the five songs released in 2002 from Motown's vaults are also missing. Until someone else does a better job at paying respect to this shamefully overlooked soul singer, this collection will have to do. It is satisfying to hear for the first time the many previously unreleased tracks that Motown sat on for decades. To this fan, Brenda deserves only the best anthology. Unfortunately, this one isn't.

Motown Anthology CD music A great set from a great singer. Covers her Motown career and there isn't a clinker in the bunch. I highly recommend.
