Oliver Huntemann is, in his own way, a classicist for 2009 -- he isn't exploring the outer reaches of dubstep or trying to put scuzzy rock sleaze back into disco, he's one for creating crisp, commanding electronic dance music that has its spiritual home in Detroit, London, Berlin, and more. His third solo album reaffirms this in entertaining enough detail. "Dios," his deserved smash single collaboration with Dubfire, gets a re-airing here over a full ten-minute edit, but it's the newer songs that understandably stand out more on initial blush. "Lousy Night" definitely makes for the most attention-getting title, but if the track itself isn't a disaster, the bass growls and echoed beat drop-ins do suggest something getting out of wack.
