Desert Of Clouds album
$9.89 The Stockholm trio of Peter Moren, Bjorn Yttling, and John Eriksson scored a European hit with their delightfully amateurish "Young Folks" single, included here complete with whistling and bongos. The rest of their second album, a fully realized fusion of intelligent songwriting and innovative production, is equally enchanting. Moren's "Objects Of My Affection" combines the rhythm, soul, and self-analysis of a RUBBER SOUL-era John Lennon composition with the atmosphere and melodic distortion of My Bloody Valentine, and Eriksson's "Up Against The Wall" evokes Blur's early Syd Barrett-influenced songs.

| | Michael Buble Crazy Love CD (2009)
Desert Of Clouds CD music
$14.49 Buoyed by the popularity of the hit contemporary pop ballad "Home," singer Michael Bublé's 2005 album, IT'S TIME, clearly positioned the vocalist as the preeminent neo-crooner of his generation. Easily the singer's most stylistically wide-ranging album so far, 2009's CRAZY LOVE is also one of his brightest, poppiest, and most fun. Bublé kicks things off with the theatrical, epic ballad "Cry Me a River" and proceeds to milk the tune with burnished breath, eking out the drama line by line. It's over the top for sure, but Bublé takes you to the edge of the cliff, prepares to jump, and then gives you a knowing wink ...
| | Trans-Siberian Orchestra Night Castle CDs (2009)
Desert Of Clouds music CDs
$11.35 NIGHT CASTLE appears just in time for the big 2009 holiday season but don't be fooled: this isn't a Christmas album, even if it's sonically indistinguishable from Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other seasonal releases, and the fact that it's been dubbed "Capra-esque" certainly brings it within the realm of the season. ...

Desert Of Clouds CD music
$11.18 Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such concentration behooves Shakira, freeing her to release her inner She Wolf, a wild wacko who's as coo coo as she is carnal. And for as sexy as Shakira is -- crucially, her music is sexy too -- what really gives She Wolf its bite is her ...

Desert Of Clouds album
$12.79 The Portuguese Jazz Hour label presents 25 tasty tracks from the first six years of tenor saxophonist Zoot Sims' recording career. The 18-year-old Lester Young devotee is heard as a member of the Joe Bushkin Sextet on four swingin' sides recorded for Commodore on May 24, 1944. He then resurfaces as accompanist on two romantic ballads sung by Harry Belafonte in 1949. Sims' first date as a leader came together in Stockholm, Sweden on April 23, 1950. He pays tribute to Prez with a smart rendition of "Tickle Toe" and communes with harmonica man Toots Thielemans on "All the Things You Are." ...

| | Bill Tucker Big Hand CD (2009)
Desert Of Clouds album
$10.15 I was born in Jacksonville, FL and raised in West Covina, CA. Hey... I named Walmerado Park! Here's a mix of surf and pop from my O.C. studio; featuring memorable melodies, catchy hooks and jangly guitar. My first band was The Malards (As in duck! Yes, only 1 el, tricky huh?), Then I went on to join The Sound Foundation (a high school sponsored New Christy Minstrels type group), Just Before 60, Wacks and Albion Moonlight. My songwriting partner John Simon and I almost signed with Shelter Records in the late 70's in the Dwight Twilley/Tom Petty era. We were disappointed we didn't make the final cut, but we did continue to perform in Southern California at places like The Cuckoo's Nest and Madame Wong's. One of our songs, "Do You", almost made Phil Seymour's debut album! Oh well... at least it was published by Bug Music Group. I spent a good part of the 90's moonlighting as an airbrush artist. Then, in 2001 I was selected along with 9 fellow employees at at&t to record a company-wide promotional CD called ERICfest. We met with producer/recording artist Doug Robinson at Capitol Records in Hollywood to record a collection of 10 ...
