Chamber jazz arrangements of music by Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Steve Kuhn, Pat Metheney, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans and others, featuring strings and woodwinds. Personnel: Carlos Franzetti (piano); Carlos Franzetti; Leonardo Suarez Paz (violin); Maurycy Banaszek (viola); Stephanie Cummins (cello); Paul Gallo (clarinet); Jay Leonhart (double bass); Lawrence Feldman (soprano saxophone, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone); The Jazz Kamerata. Recording information: 24; 96. Editor: Nicholas Prout. Photographers: Joanne Dugan; Marcelo Maia; Janette Beckman; Barry Burns. Arranger: Carlos Franzetti. A set of songs written by jazz musicians were arranged for this project by pianist Carlos Franzetti for piano, sax, bass, flute, clarinet, and a string quartet. The results are pleasing if not overly memorable. While the selections are often challenging, the interpretations are more middle-of-the-road and fairly accessible due to the strings. Franzetti and saxophonist Lawrence Feldman take most of the solos and their improvisations are excellent, although the utilization of strings and woodwinds smoothes over some of the rough edges of the compositions, making the results fairly safe if occasionally unpredictable. ~ Scott YanowJazzTimes (p.118) - "This is indeed a mood album. It casts a spell and never breaks it." Carlos Franzetti Jazz Kamerata Songs | 1. | Circle |

In this live setting, listeners are afforded the added dimension of the audience's appreciation, which in turn helps to stimulate the aural senses to a higher and more spiritual plane often forgotten in today's hectic world. For example, "Falling in Love With Jesus" offers a tender and moving revelation from Jonathan Butler on lead vocals, which segues into his thanking God and urging listeners to pray.
