When modern jazzman Keith Jarrett began ringing up unprecedented sales figures with his live solo piano recitals for Manfred Eicher's ECM label (most notably THE KOLN CONCERTS), other pianists and record companies began to take notice. The delirious "Intro" sets the stage for what's to come: murky synth washes are gently led into the sunshine by the sudden magisterial arrival of the flamenco guitar. The title track is a rousing instrumental that fuses techno with samplings of the Irish traditional ballad, "She Moved through the Fair" (referred to as "Belfast Child"), with a haunting vocal over a mix of percussion elements, synthesizer pads, and more flamenco. (Imagine Gypsy Kings mixing an album with Deep Forest). The track appears twice more, as a reprise and extended club remix. Another highlight is a reworking of an old Vangelis tune, here called "You Won't See Me Cry," wherein seductive spoken word whispers contrast with the impassioned Gypsy elements. Subsequent Tribe CDs would get more ethereal and languid but this debut has shown formidable staying power as a favorite of everyone from massage therapists to hardcore ravers.

Inanna, Sisters in Rhythm, is a percussion and vocal ensemble that explores the heritage and rhythms of West Africa, through original arrangements and compositions invoking ancient traditions of the drum. Inanna was originally created by the participants of a drum class in Alna, Maine almost fifteen years ago. Since that time, Inanna has recorded and released four full-length albums and has performed at numerous percussion festivals and community events. Four years ago, they started an annual tradition of inviting master drummers from around the world to perform and teach summer workshops here in Maine. Inanna is deeply dedicated to the education and cultivation of peace and sharing among cultures through the power of music.The ensemble plays African percussion instruments such as the Djembe, Kpanlogo, Doundounba, Kenkeni and Sangba, and other hand-crafted percussion instruments such as the Balafon (an African Xylophone), rainsticks, kalimba (thumb piano), shekeres and a variety of bells and other small instruments.
