Frameshift: Sebastian Bach (vocals); Henning Pauly (guitars, banjo, piano, Hammond b-3 organ, synthesizer, bass instrument); Eddie Marvin (drums). Frameshift Absence Of Empathy Songs Absence Of Empathy Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Good Prog Music but distasteful lyrics I give this a 3.5 star. The prog is good but the lyrics are somewhat distasteful and with the resonance of violence that is happening around us, we do not need to be reminded with the music we listen to. TV had brought enough violence into our living room; Give us a break Henning Pauly! However Henning did a great job with Chain exe. but I am surprise it is languishing at position 73,000 with CD Universe, and there was no reviews other than mine. I put Chain.exe above Dream Theater's Octavarium and many other big names in the business. Submitted by randy_leehc (Singapore) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Bach is back!!! For those Sebastian Bach fans that have been wating over a decade for some new material to really show off what Bach can do with his voice, look no further. An Absence Of Empathy is truly one of the best prog rock/metal albums that I have heard in a long time, & this can be credited to both the top notch music of the amazing Henning Pauly, & without dout the unbelievable performance of Mr. Sebastian Bach.
Those expecting Skid Row revisited may be disapointed, but instead you are givin a musical journey into a world of violence, intrigue & the lack of empathy that our society has for the common nature of violence. Bach has finally been givin strong enough material to really make him shine in this career defining performance. Exellent on all accounts.

An amazing sonic jounrey I have to say after stumbling onto Frameshfit wih James Labrie, I was pleasantly surprised to find one with Sebastian Bach singing on it...start to finish. I love Bach's vocal style and to be honest, this disc was much better than the one with James. 'Unweaving' was artsy and grand, but this one was more raw and to the point! Bach really extended himself on this one and the last track "animal" is absolutely fantastic. Bach was allowed to be the focus of the song and many others throughout this disc. I haven't stopped playing it for the last week and change. You will love this one...be patient, the hooks and catchiness will come to you. They're in there..you just have to feel it. This is a brilliant album! Submitted by Ytsejamer1 (Portsmouth, NH) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Absence Of Empathy
$11.05 TRAIN OF THOUGHT continues the legacy of the progressive metal legends, with all the requisite superhuman metallic musicianship that their fans have come to expect. This outing continues in the heavier mode that began with 2002's SIX DEGREES OF INNER TURBULENCE, reaching even further into darker, personal lyrical themes.
Guitars are the dominant expressive voice here, with keyboards scaled considerably back ...

| | James Labrie Elements Of Persuasion CD (2005)
Absence Of Empathy
$15.05 Clichés have a way of being overused, but some of them are so darn accurate that it's hard not to come back to them again and again. One such cliché is, "The more things change, the more they stay the same." That cliché applies to politics and economics, and it most certainly applies to music; James LaBrie's third solo project, Elements of Persuasion, is a perfect example. This 2005 release worships, cherishes and adores rock's past without being totally enslaved by it, and like a lot of the neo-soulsters who have managed to link the '60s and '70s with the '90s and 2000s (Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, among ...

Absence Of Empathy
$8.99 Stepa provides one of 2002's most accessible hard rock releases with their eponymous debut, an album that seemingly does everything right with the nu-metal formula. While the band is noticeably young (in fact, the average age of the bandmembers is only 19 years old), they seem to have a firm understanding of their surroundings ...
| | Best Of Art Pepper CD (2004)
Absence Of Empathy
$9.79 This 13-track set covers almost 20 years in the tumultuous career of alto saxophonist Art Pepper. From the lead-off track "Smack Up," Pepper's remarkable style is apparent--lyrical, dexterous, and full of a wild, mercurial passion that recalls Charlie Parker, but is completely distinctive. A handful of tracks featuring the rhythm section from Miles Davis's first quintet (Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums) are among the early highlights, as is the wildly swinging big-band outing "Move."
The later material, which dates from the ...
