It would take more than a nuclear explosion to stop everyone's favorite violence-loving lawman! Davis Rasch returned - along with co-stars Ann-Marie Martin and Harrison Page, in second season of the series. The set includes 19 complete episodes plus extras including cast and crew featurettes, audio commentaries, rare commercials, trivia games, network apologies, and more. A parody of violent cop shows and movies such as DIRTY HARRY and HUNTER, SLEDGE HAMMER had a short run on network television but has garnered a cult fanbase since its cancellation. David Rasche stars as Hammer, a humorless, trigger-happy cop who shoots first and asks questions later. After blowing up all of Los Angeles at the end of the first season, SEASON TWO begins with a disclaimer stating that the new episodes take place a few years earlier. This gives merely a hint of the off-beat, often politically incorrect humor that drove the program. This collection features all 19 episodes of the second season, which would prove to be SLEDGE HAMMER's last. Guest stars include character actors such as Ray Walston, Bill Bixby, Bud Cort, and 1980s music star Adam Ant. Sledge Hammer was one of the greatest satire / parodies of the 80's. this collection is every bit as good as season one. The only bad thing is that Sledge Hammer didn't last 10 seasons like Married With Children. A definate must have for every American!!! :-)

I have loved this show since it first aired on TV back in the mid-eighties, and it is still just as great today as it was back then. David Rasche plays the title character Sledge Hammer and he is excellent as the parody of Dirty Harry style law enforcers. Harrison Page is fantastic in the role of Capt. Trunk, whose main gag is losing his cool and exploding in anger at the antics of Sledge, who you can guess is always causing trouble. Anne-Marie Martin is wonderful as Sledge's sidekick Dori Doreau, and she brings some much-needed balance and brains to the team. She also kicks some serious butt now and then too. Even the supporting cast is great. I cannot say enough good things about this show! In the famous words of Sledge Hammer, "Trust Me, I know what I'm doing!", and trust me when I say that you'll love Sledge Hammer!
