Greatest Hits
$18.39 The British group the Fortunes formed in 1963 and rode the Merseybeat sound to the top of the charts with the impossibly catchy single "You've Got Your Troubles" two years later. They repeated the trick in 1970 with their cover of a Pickettywitch song "That Same Old Feeling" and again the following year with "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again." All three songs are included here, along with lesser hits and near misses, making Singles the only Fortunes collection you'll ever need. ~ Steve Leggett
The Fortunes are an archetypal English beat group. Formed in Birmingham, The Fortunes first came to prominence and international acclaim in 1965, when "You've Got ...

| | Horace Silver You Gotta Take A Little Love CD (1969)
Greatest Hits
$12.79 Composers: Horace Silver; Bennie Maupin. Horace Silver: Horace Silver (piano); Bennie Maupin (flute); Randy Brecker (flugelhorn); John Williams (bass instrument); Billy Cobham (drums). Jazz pianist Horace Silver led a superb quintet in the late 1960s that included Benny Maupin on flute and tenor sax, Randy Brecker on trumpet, John Williams on bass, and Billy Cobham on drums. That group's YOU GOTTA TAKE A LITTLE LOVE is packed with excellent playing and the leader's memorable compositions (Maupin's contribution, "Lovely's Daughter," is also strong). This is adventurous yet accessible hard bop in the late-'60s vein, and the carefully remastered 2007 reissue should enable contemporary audiences to appreciate it all the more. One of the final Horace Silver Quintet Blue Note albums, this somewhat forgotten LP, dedicated to "the Brotherhood of Men," is an instrumental set that introduced six new compositions by the pianist/leader (none of which caught ...
| | Conrad Korsch Live Love Leave CD (2009)
Greatest Hits
$12.15 Conrad Korsch has worked as a bassist and vocalist with some of the finest singers and songwriters in the music business: Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Rosanne Cash, Joan Osborne, Madeleine Peyroux, Carole King, Marc Cohn, Gavin DeGraw, Andrea Bocelli + Bette Midler, to name a few. "Live Love Leave" is his debut album as a singer-songwriter, showcasing his abilites on lead vocals and a variety of musical instruments as well as his beautifully atypical string quartet arrangements. Combining the poetic storytelling elements of Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen with the passion of Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice, this album contains 13 songs drawing on the human experience which, while deeply personal, are rich with characters and metaphors, engaging listeners to either relate their own experiences or simply observe from afar. He is joined on the recordings by Rosanne Cash + Joy Askew on vocals, Shawn Pelton + David Palmer on drums, Matt Beck + Thad DeBrock on electric guitars, Alex Brofsky on french horn, Antoine Silverman + Jonathan Dinklage on violins, Hiroko Taguchi on viola and Anja Wood on cello.
