Amiable con man Jack Cooper is on a westbound stagecoach, headed for the next batch of suckers who will mistake him for an easy mark. Fiery Sarah O'Rourke rides the same coach, handcuffed to lawman Bill Speakes and headed for the hangman. In a few hours, all should reach their destinations. But the trail they travel takes an unexpected turn: Cooper and O'Rourke are soon off the stage and running for their lives. The law ends and the chase begins in a very alive tale of wanted-dead-or-alive fugitives (Linda Fiorentino and Craig Sheffer) pursued by a marshal (Sam Elliott) who's a law unto himself. A marshal becomes dangerously obsessed with a beautiful woman who has escaped his custody in this made-for-video action western. Turner Home Entertainment's first direct-to-video release.

Desperate Trail movie DVD
$9.89 Director Uli Edel (BODY OF EVIDENCE) helmed this tale of the Old West in 1999. Set in a town called Refuge, Wild Bill Hickok (Sam Shepard), Doc Holliday (Randy Quaid), and Jesse James (J.D. Souther) are among the inhabitants, even though they've long since passed away. The town is actually Purgatory, a middle ground for reckless outlaws who must prove themselves to be worthy of a place in Heaven, or face an eternity rotting in the pit of Hell. No one who resides in Refuge is allowed to carry a gun, nor is there any jail, or even swearing. So when a wild bunch of desperados turn up, led by Blackjack Britton (Eric Roberts), they are surprised at what they find. Britton and his men soon realize they are among some illustrious company, and set about taking the town for their own. The TNT channel originally aired this compelling sci-fi western that saddles up its horse and rides out of town to a satisfyingly explosive conclusion.

Desperate Trail review
$10.09 Based on the play by Ernest Thompson, ON GOLDEN POND tells the deceptively simple tale of one family's summer. The story centers around the bickering but loving relationship between Ethel and Norman Thayer (Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda), an elderly couple who are spending their 48th summer at their New England country home and celebrating Norman's 80th birthday. When their independent, insecure daughter, Chelsea (Jane Fonda), and her new boyfriend, Bill Ray (Dabney Coleman), come for Norman's birthday, they also end up asking the couple to look after Billy Ray (Doug McKeon), Bill's teenage son, while they travel to Europe. Over the summer, Norman becomes closer to Billy Ray than he has ever been to his daughter, sparking Chelsea's long-repressed resentment when she returns. In this beautifully filmed story, there are ...
