Oh this is just scary. Here are a host of marginal, fringe and has-been rockers paying tribute to the most enduring -- and arguably most innovative -- rock power trio in history. Love them or hate them Rush are iconoclasts; they have never looked to any muse other than their own. On Subdivisions: A Tribute to Rush, executive producers Peter Morticelli and Mike Varney have assembled vocalists Sebastian Bach, Randy Jackson (of Zebra) Kip Winger, Dave Brooks, and Jani Lane. They, in turn, are accompanied by an assortment of players including Vinnie Moore, Mike Magnini, Alex Skolnick, Jeff Stinco, Robert Berry (who mixed the collection), Andreas Kisser and others in what has to be the most misguided, badly played, and utterly lifeless "tribute" record to come down the pipe in a very long while. One has to wonder if Rush Messrs. Peart, Lee and Lifeson aren't embarrassed by this debacle. ~ Thom Jurek

$12.69 THE BARBARA CECIL BIOGRAPHYBarbara Cecil was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and moved out west to the rural countryside of Oregon when she was three years old. Being the last child of four children, she found herself growing up somewhat alone. Barbara found out at an early age she could entertain herself by singing. In fact she developed a strong powerful voice, by singing at the top of her lungs and as loud as she wanted. She knew that no one could hear her, way out in the woods. After high school, Barbara sang through the local pageant circuit, and sang for a local country band. IN 1994 Barbara started singing as a solo performer at state and county fairs throughout ...

$13.69 "Well if it's sleaze rock you're after then you've come to the right place here - this EP is that scummy-sounding that you'll probably need to go for a shower after hearing it. Kickstarter are a California-based bunch of dirtballs who, at their best, sound like the Dead Boys covering Rose Tattoo(vocalist Danny Dee does a pretty damn good approximation of the late great Stiv Bators which is always a plus). Keep an eye out for 'em." -Pure Rawk UK"San Francisco's Kickstarter bear a striking resemblance to 90s LA strut-rock kings Motorcycle Boy minus the shag haircuts and she-male groupies, but with the same pie-eyed, crotch-grabbing swagger and knack for sleazy riffs and candy-coated pop hooks. This record is getting somebody laid, that's for sure. Why not you?" -Classic Rock Magazine "This album has the same kinda cool hand-drawn cover artwork that says "GLAM CLASSIC!!!" the second you see it. You know the kinda thing I'm talking about; Pretty Boy Floyd's 'Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz' had one, and so did Gemini Five's 'Babylon Rockets'. The ample-chested young lady sitting astride a gleaming purple Harley on the front of Kickstarter's self-titled seven-track CD leaves you in no doubt that you're holding something special in your hands. What you're not holding in your hands, however, is a record sounding anything like as polished as either of the afore-mentioned glam masterpieces. What you get from Kickstarter is a far grittier, ...
