The "ROSS" album has for years gotten very bad reviews and for the life of me I don't know why. This album is great. It's not a typical r&b album. It's more of a pop/rock/dance with a few touches of r&b. The album spun off 3 singles: Pieces of Ice is a new age dance rock tune that many critics hate. I love it. The song hit #31 pop and 15 r&b. The second single relased was the r&b jam Upfront. It only peaked at #60 r&b. Upfront should've easily been a pop hit. The last single released was Let's Go Up. This is a great pop/r&b song that should've been a hit as well. It hit #77 pop and #52 r&b. I think also if the last two singles had charted higher, You Do It or That's How You Start Over could've been released as singles as well. The Ross album is great and it's far from boring.

||Ray Parker JR. Production...pretty good|
U have to know Ray Parker's production prior to his Ghostbuster's thingy! This Diana Ross album is really a good album if you keep in mind that is soft R&B. All the songs follow one into another spiked with Diana's feel. The cover is stricking! It makes you question which is all marketing. I bought the vinyl way back and purchased the cd way back at a dear price. I love this cd and fits well in Diana's evolution.

||Not her best|
Let me start by saying I bought this import CD to complete my Diana Ross post-Motown collection. This could well be her weakest CD of that period, producing a very minor radio hit with Pieces of Ice. It's short, it's forgettable and the cover photo makes her look like she's strung out on drugs. But you've gotta love her!

||My favorite Diana CD|
First of all, all the previous reviews on here are talking about another Diana CD also titled Ross.That Cd had Pieces Of Ice and Love or Lonliness and outside of those two songs that Cd was a piece of crap and I may be Diana's biggest fan. This cd with Never Say I Don't Love You and Where did we go wrong is my favorite Diana Cd of all time. Baby It's Me and Silk electric are a close 2nd and 3rd. I like all the songs on here but those 2songs are by far my favorite. This is a must for any Diana fan.
