This is one of America's best with such hits as Daisy Jane, Sister Golden Hair, Woman Tonight and the Story of a Teenager. Their voices blend beautifully!

AMERICA's fifth album brings you such hits as DAISY JANE,WOMAN TONIGHT and SISTER GOLDEN HAIR. The rest of the album is filled with some wonderful ballads and a couple of good old rock & roll tunes. This is one of their best.

This could be the best album of the 1970's!I won this album at a school carnival in June of '75 and I played it to death because each track could have been a hit single(that's how good this LP is).Along with George Martin who put a "little Beatlesque" into it surely shows.I have the REMASTER japanese CD version of this album that came out in the mid-90's and it does
wonders to your stereo system and ears!
They did a great job considering I like vinyl better.Two bad AMERICA didn't follow up on HEARTS,it just kinda went down hill from there.

Eine sehr schoene Scheibe die durch die Jahre nicht aus ihrer Fische verloren hat. Ein grosser Erfolg meiner Meinung nach. Chapeau fuer die drei saenger.

Oakland's the Gris Gris's self-titled debut came at a time when the American indie rock underground was experiencing a revival of '60s-era psychedelia in all its different guises. Running the gamut from the trippy side to one of more twisted pop, the Gris Gris prove equally adept at both ends of the spectrum, most evidently on the lead-off track, "Raygun," which features deep atmospherics and an almost Stones-worthy singalong stomp. While not necessarily reinventing the wheel, it's certain that the players are at least having fun rolling over previously laid ground.
The Gris Gris' striking self-titled debut album is made all the more captivating by the fact that the band's music isn't easy to categorize: There's enough snarling, stomping rock on it that the band could be very loosely tied in with the waning garage rock revival of the 2000s, in much the same way that bands like the 13th Floor Elevators took '60s garage in much darker and weirder directions (and indeed, Roky Erickson's influence is often felt on the Gris Gris). Just as often, though, Greg Ashley and the rest of the band play delicately trippy psych-folk that wouldn't sound surprising coming from Syd Barrett or Devendra Banhart, and the album's evocatively muddy production adds to the overall what-decade-is-it-anyway feel. But though the Gris Gris' roots are clear, their album is another reminder that it isn't what you take from, but what you do with it, that matters. The eight-minute long opening track, "Raygun," combines the band's sonic extremes, beginning with a fragile guitar melody and Ashley's equally vulnerable vocals before feedback ...
