Perils CD music
$9.79 This is a collection of NOFX tracks from various compilations, 7"s and EPs, plus a previously unreleased song and dub remix.
NOFX are masters of the punk ethic of self-deprecation, and it begs the question if they truly realize the mark they have made on the history of modern hardcore. After 18 years, the band that sums up its musical prowess humbly as "good," ...

Perils music CDs
$13.65 Black Oni is the second part of an epic trilogy that started with 2004's highly acclaimed Five Suns. Like that album, it is composed of one track separated into five parts. It shares the same lineup as Five Suns, too (not always the case with Guapo): Daniel O'Sullivan on keyboards ...

| | McCoy Live 1977 CD (2000) (Import) United Kingdom
Perils album
$17.45 The trio that was McCoy featured bassist/vocalist John McCoy, who would go on to Gillan, and another hard rock warrior in Paul Samson, later of Samson. Rounding out the lineup on this July 16, 1977, recording was drummer Roger Hunt. It's journeyman hard rock, not as metal-based or bombastic as much of the product associated with the "New Wave of British Heavy Metal." Actually, it's rather closer to ho-hum bar band rock than hard rock (or certainly metal), and the kind of music you'd be about as likely to hear on bottom-of-the-bill or pub bands in 1997 as you would in 1977. That's not a compliment, but it's not the worst slag that could be offered either. ...
| | Russ Freeman Drive CD (2002)
Perils CD music
$6.79 (MP3 Available for Download) Since the Rippingtons do Russ Freeman's bidding, he hasn't found it necessary to do a full-fledged, regular solo album since he founded the group in 1986. (There have been duo albums with David Benoit and Craig Chaquico as well as a solo holiday record, however.) But listeners "started encouraging me to 'step out' more and to play more guitar," he writes in the liner notes to Drive, and "hence, this album," his first such release since 1985's Nocturnal Playground. That statement is the key to what distinguishes the disc from a Rippingtons album. Although Freeman has called upon a few guest musicians, with Chris Botti contributing muted trumpet work to "Soul Dance," Jeff Lorber keyboards to "Brighter Day," and Eric Marienthal sax to "Anywhere Near You," the tracks are designed as showcases for Freeman's guitar playing, not otherwise leaving room for other soloists. The Freeman fans who encouraged him no doubt will find the result satisfying, but the overall musical direction is no different from that of the Rippingtons. As usual, Freeman has built a series of bright, bubbly percussive tracks (he and two ...

| | All The Aces: The Best Of Motorhead CD (1993)
Perils songs
$20.25 Contains five previously released albums NO SLEEP 'TIL HAMMERSMITH, ACE OF SPADES, BOMBER, OVERKILL, and MOTORHEAD plus a CD called MELTDOWN, which contains rare studio and live tracks.
This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other.
1993 saw another addition to the long line of Motorhead compilations in ALL THE ACES. Just about every mega-decibel classic from Lemmy and company can be found here, as well as a bonus live disc of an early Motorhead-related side project, featuring guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke and drummer Phil Taylor.
For some of the all-time best British heavy metal, you can't go wrong with such mean rockers as "Ace of Spades," "(We Are) The Road Crew," "Iron Fist," "Bomber," and "Motorhead," as well as such oft-overlooked tracks as "Love Me Like a Reptile" and "No Class." The aforementioned bonus disc doesn't include any Motorhead songs, but features a few originals and good-spirited covers (Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl" and a pair of Eddie Cochran tunes, "Somethin' Else" and "Summertime Blues").
Perhaps the first band to provide common ground for the often-opposed musical camps of punk and metal, Motorhead are perhaps THE archetypical British metal band. Founded by ex-Hawkwind bassist Lemmy, Motorhead combines the irreverent, stripped-down, buzz-saw aspects of punk rock and the over-the-top, menacing excesses of heavy metal, together with a playfully brutal sense of ...
