Same As It Ever Was songs
$11.49 Perhaps destined to be remembered as the funky blues pop piano troupe that was the first band to be booted off VH1's Bands on the Run television series, Joshes Dodes Band turns in a surprisingly accomplished debut album with Get Up. Made up of equal parts funk blues tracks and brittle solo ballads, the album is winning almost from start to finish. Only on a couple of occasions does the band sink into never-ending jams, as on the John Scofield gone Dawson's Creek party song "Be My Friend, But Be Naked," the Medeski, Martin, & Wood-inspired contrived noise pop of "Rhinorocerous," and "Do the Do," which sounds a tad too much like the theme song to The Jeffersons. Otherwise, Get Up showcases Dodes' considerable songwriting talent and his striking vocal range. "Looking Back At You," a beautiful ballad, marries a citified Joe Jackson shuffle with a little bit of Michael McDonald's tenderness to nice effect. "American Angel" is wholly pleasant, organic jazz pop with some diva background vocals thrown in for good measure. "Windows" is every bit as good as a Dave Matthews' ballad. If the backup vocalists sometimes get a bit noisier than need be, it's okay because the music is so fun and airy. Why not throw an accordion into the mix on the addictive, entertaining "The On and On"? Get Up is far more cohesive than one would expect, ...

| | John Taglieri Half & Half CD (2004)
Same As It Ever Was CD music
$8.55 JOHN TAGLIERI BIOGRAPHYHalf & Half marks the return and new beginning for singer songwriter John Taglieri. "After doing so many shows as a solo act, this record felt like the natural direction for me to be going. When you really look at it, for me, it's always been about the songs, and on this record, it's about nothing else but the songs in their most basic sense."Following the solid success of his debut CD, Leap Of Faith, John Taglieri is back with a record that speaks of his successes, showing off his live show and his newest songs. Aptly titled, Half & Half, it is a half live, half studio CD celebrating Taglieri's love for the acoustic guitar and live performance. With the live tracks being pulled from various shows over a two-year period, and the studio tracks being various cuts from his present and past, the CD is a collection of tender love ballads, in your face rockers, and deep songs about life.Picking up a guitar at age five was the first step for John Taglieri, and he hasn't looked back since. He has been playing and recording music professionally since the age of 15. He has released independent albums with past groups, toured on local, regional, and national levels, and received airplay from many local radio stations. Music is a way of life to him. With a degree in Audio Engineering from The Center for the Media Arts in New York City, and many recordings under his belt, he is well aware and very capable of what it takes to perform in the studio. With well over 1500 performing dates, he knows what it takes to put on a show. He has shared bills with some of the most famous players out there and has played some of the best venues in the country. He has been a lead guitar player, lead vocalist / frontman, drummer, percussionist, bassist and keyboard player. His vocal talent has been used in every project he has ever been involved in, be it as a lead or background vocalist. His ability to play many instruments has insured that he has kept busy at all times. He has also been involved in many recordings in his ...

| | KELLI*SAID Lets Get This On CD (2005)
Same As It Ever Was songs
$10.09 So how did we begin?Us two kids, Kelli & Keith formed the band in Winter of 2001. We both shared such a history and love for music that the only obvious outlet was to start creating songs together. We began writing tunes full of feelings and emotions brought on by past memories, current situations and hopes for the future. We thank all the past and present local and national musicians that influenced us. Without the pioneers, we wouldn't be here! How did we go public? The excitement & encouragement from our families and friends inspired us to take this passion for song-writing & self record our first CD 'Ear Candy'. There were two reasons for this recording: The first, to see what response we would get from the public. The second, to find and form a band that blended like personalities, talents and goals. 'Ear Candy' also gave other musicians an idea of who we were and what stylistic direction we were headed in. Once we became a foursome, we self recorded a second CD, appropriately titled "This is a Demonstration". We felt the need to give local club owners and fans an idea of what we sounded like live. The word was out and the public began to take notice. Where have we played? With the additions of Dazz and G, we've had the pleasure and opportunity to play with a lot of great bands in many great venues around the Denver/Front range area. Well known establishments such as The Soiled Dove, ...
