Seeing AC/DC on television has always been a rare occurence. After all, this was the band that tried to "blow up your video" during the height of MTV's late 80's boom. Here, for the first time, is the definitive history of AC/DC on video. DVD 1, featuring 1975-1980, starts with their breakthrough performance of "Baby Please Don't Go" from Australian TV, through early promo clips, their rare urn on 70's mainstay "The Midnight Special" and ends with the Spanish TV performance taped just 10 days before singer Bon Scott's death. DVD 2 traces the classic 80's & 90's videos and includes, for the first time on DVD, the home video titles Fly On The Wall, Who Made Who and Clipped. AC/DC presents a comprehensive history of the legendary hard-rock band's rare television and video offerings, filmed from 1975 to 1993. Beginning with the ground-breaking Australian COUNTDOWN television version of "Baby, Please Don't Go" and continuing with their fabled appearance on American 70s TV's MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, this compilation features videos, rare promos, and Bon Scott's final television performance, recorded in Spain just days before his death. Arnold Schwarzenegger appears in the "Big Guns" video at the conclusion, and the video track list offers "Back in Black," "Highway to Hell," "Show Business," "Jailbreak," "Shake Your Foundations," "Flick of the Switch," "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap," "High Voltage," "Who Made Who," "Fly on the Wall," "Nervous Shakedown," "Sink the Pink," "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution," "You Shook Me All Night Long," "If You Want Blood," "Riff Raff," "Shot Down in Flames," "Dog Eat Dog," "Danger," "For Those About to Rock," "Hell's Bells," "Rock N Roll Damnation," "Rocker," "Girls Got Rhythm," "Heatseeker," "Stand Up," "That's the Way I Wanna Rock & Roll," "T.N.T.," "Let's Get It Up," and "Are You Ready," among others. AC/DC - Family Jewels Reviews: "[L]ife-affirming stuff from a band as resolute and unbowed as any of the greats throughout history."
-- Uncut Staff, Uncut AC/DC - Family Jewels Movie Review Average Rating: (4.2 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews A GREAT Video History I've Been a fan for almost 30 years now, and this really is the "Family Jewels" of AC/DC. No Matter if you like Bon or Brian best, it's 2 and 1/2 hours of Hard Rockin' by the Masters who created the definition of the term HARD ROCK! MY two sons, ages 5 and 11 are two of AC/DC's newest fans. And now the boys want Guitars for Christmas! Hmmm, Two Brothers playing Guitars... GREAT SOUND Great Videos, R.I.P. Bon. Bon rocked my early life. One of those LP's HighWay To Hell was a staple in my 1st car. It was never driven without playing it at least once in my car. This band rocked/rocks !!!!!! The price for this much entertainment is unbeilavable !!
I used to pay more for ONE blank VHS tape 20 years ago. This ain't blank either, It rocks. Sin City off the Midnight Special was a treasure never thought I'd see again. Wish someone would release that whole show. It was hosted by Ted Nugent and featured AC/DC as well as Thin Lizzy, Golden Earing, Aerosmith and more !!!
But this NOW !!!!!!!!!!! Submitted by txorzel (Andy Griffith Andiana Unites States) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
