Personnel: Debby Boone (vocals); Rosemary Clooney (vocals); John Pizzarelli, Jim Fox (guitar); Armen Ksadjikian (cello); Gary Foster (clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone); Dan Higgins, Scott Hamilton (tenor saxophone); Warren Luening (trumpet, flugelhorn); John Oddo (piano); Chuck Berghofer (bass instrument); Gregg Field (drums); Daniel Greco (percussion); Cherry O'Neill, Lindy Michaelis, Laury Browning (background vocals). For those with long memories, Debby Boone's name will be synonymous with the monster '70s hit "You Light Up My Life." Reflections of Rosemary, however, represents a different Boone, someone who's lived a second life on Broadway in productions of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and The Sound of Music. In a broader sense, Boone's bid as a jazz singer makes perfect sense in the wake of Diana Krall and Norah Jones. Boone even offers a version of Hank Williams' "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," a song that reminds one of Jones' take on "Cold, Cold Heart" on Come Away With Me. If all three singers seem something of a throwback to say, Rosemary Clooney, then that's just fine with contemporary listeners. Reflections of Rosemary is well sung and tasteful, and should quickly find its place on mainstream jazz's heavy rotation play lists. The accompaniment is light on songs like "Blue Skies" and "I'll Be Home," allowing Boone's voice to take center stage. On "Mood Indigo," however, she's joined on the chorus by her three sisters for some stunning, Manhattan Transfer-style harmony, and "You're Gonna Hear from Me" is backed by a big band. Boone also borrows a couple of Clooney favorites from Frank Sinatra, "It Never Entered My Mind/In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning," and Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn's "Time After Time." Reflections of Rosemary lives up to its title by offering a quietly reflective group of songs recalling a great jazz voice. ~ Ronnie D. Lankford, Jr.JazzTimes (p.116) - "[I]t is Oddo's controlled comping, plus tasteful statements form tenor Scott Hamilton and guitarist John Pizzarelli, that makes the album such a pleasant surprise." Debby Boone Reflections Of Rosemary Songs Reflections Of Rosemary Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews WELCOME BACK DEBBY! I'VE MISSED YOU! Well, it's been about 10 years or more since Ms. Boone has recorded a new CD. I have been a fan of hers ever since "You Light Up My Life." I was blessed to see her perform at the Traverse City, Michigan, Cherry Festival in July of 1978. (I think that was the year.)
Ms. Boone recorded several Christian CDs which I have always treasured. When she stopped doing that, I feared we would never hear from her again. But WOW what a comeback this album is. Bravo, Debby!
I wish they had used a prettier picture for the album cover because Ms. Boone is very lovely at 48 years old. But about the CD... it's a remarkable feat for Ms. Boone that she really reminds me of Linda Ronstadt when Linda sang torch songs! I love "I'll Be Home," "I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry," "It Never Entered my Mind," and all the rest. I just read online that Ms. Boone inherited all of the music from her mother-in-law, Rosemary Clooney. So I really hope that this CD is just the first of many more to come! Bravo again!

INCREDIBLE!!! One of the best albums I have heard in ages. Debby's voice has improved significantly with age, and her sensitivity shines through on each and every song. SIMPLY FANTASTIC!!! Should have been a MAJOR HIT! Submitted by mistercarter2u (Richmond, VA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Brilliant Debby! It is so good to hear a new album by Debby Boone after which seems like an eternity. Her voice is just as - if not better - than when I first heard her sing "You Light Up My Life". The album itself is brilliant 'mood' music and shows us again what a brilliantly talented singer Debby is. True music worth taking the time to listen to - especially in those quiet times. Quite good A charming, heartfelt tribute. Ms. Boone seems at home with a jazz backing, and it sounds pleasing -- but she really is a pop stylist who has some understanding of jazz. Hell, she's Clooney's daughter-in-law... something rubbed off! Submitted by Chopsie (Columbia, SC) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$14.19 Cleveland band BMZ consists of the powerhouse trio of Jim Bacha, Mike Misiak, and Jerry Zsigo. Alone, the three musicians have been part of the Cleveland rock scene for decades as members of some of the most popular bands during their times. Together, the three have created a rock trio that few in the Greater Cleveland area can match. BMZ came together as a group because the members of the band were all looking to do something musically and had nowhere to turn to fill that desire. With Jim Bacha on bass guitar and vocals, Michael Misiak on drums and vocals, and Jerry Zsigo on guitar and vocals, the musicians have created a solid rock band. In 2005, BMZ released their first album entitled "The 2 is Silent". After the success of that album, the group went back into the studio to record their second release "Two" in 2006. It was after the release of "Two" that the band decided to take their best material and attack the songs in a live setting and record the resulting show for future release. That resulting show took place on March 10th, 2007 at the Cleveland, OH concert venue, The Winchester. The band has taken the recorded show and put it out on a double ...
