| Incredible performance, Stunningly beautiful voice.
This concert was recorded when Nana Mouskouri was 50 years old but still at the height of her vocal abilities. She had the ability to use her angelic voice like a finely tuned musical instrument. Nana Mouskouri appears to sincerely enjoy singing and projects considerable emotion into her songs. Her hand and arm movements add to her appeal. The instrumental accompaniment has a Greek flavor and is lively and pleasant. Most of the songs in the concert are Greek, and the program includes some of the most beautiful Greek songs ever recorded. Nana also sings a few old standbys, such as Amazing Grace( sung in English ) and Ave Maria. Her renditions of these two song are the most beautiful that I have ever heard. The amphitheater of Herod Atticus in Athens is very interesting. The audio recording is excellent, but the lighting in the amphitheater seems to be somewhat dim. I understand very little Greek, but sometimes it is more enjoyable to experience all the nuances of an incredibly beautiful voice without being distracted by the lyrics. The bonus section of the DVD includes some excellent music videos of Athens and the surrounding area, as well as Nana Mouskouri in 2002. The videos are accompanied by Nana's singing of beautiful songs in several languages.

Nana Mouskouri - Live at Herod Atticus DVD for sale It is no exaggeration to state that Nana Mouskouri is a global superstar. With record sales in the multi-millions, an unflagging popularity in Europe, North America, and elsewhere, and a repertoire that spans a thousand songs in a variety of languages, it's hard to find an artist with more across-the-board (or border, as it were) success.
At 15 tracks, the scope of this 20TH CENTURY MASTERS collection is pretty small, so this best-of set ends up making a molehill out of a mountain. Even so, this is a fine, economical introduction to the singer, featuring string-heavy French ballads ("Plaisir D'Amour"), country-tinged pop ("The White Rose of Athens"), and American pop and rock ("Love Me Tender;" "Bridge Over Troubled Water"), with Mouskouri's high, clear soprano ringing throughout.

Nana Mouskouri - Live at Herod Atticus video 2010 live release from the Greek-Egyptian singer. Born in Egypt, Demis participated in a series of musical groups once he settled in Greece, beginning with The Idols when he was 17. After this he joined We Five (not the San Francisco, California Folk-Rock group), another covers band which had limited success in Greece. He came to a wider audience in 1968 when he joined Progressive Rock band Aphrodite's Child, initially as singer but later also playing bass guitar. His distinctive operatic vocal style helped propel the band to international success, notably on their final album 666, which became something of a cult classic.
