Very accurate biblical movie This movie was portrayed accurately according to the Bible. The acting was superb. The women actors portrayed
the biblical characters very accurately, especially their
physical description as it relates to the Bible's physical description of these characters. Lara Flynn Boyle was perfect for the part of Rachel because she fits the physical and personality description of Rachel
described in the Bible. Matthew Modine was excellent as Jacob because he fits the physical description. Great story about betrayal and refusing to do what God tells one
to do. Jacob betrayed his father and twin brother, then later Jacob is betrayed in the same manner at which he betrayed his family. We can truly learn from this biblical story that - what goes around surely comes around.

Jacob : Enjoyed the movie : Interesting Perspective Personally, I enjoy watching movies about the Bible and Biblical characters.
There's a lot i could say about this movie, but i simply do not have the time to share it all...
Overall I enjoyed the movie.
There are so many lessons and messages that can be drawn from this movie...
Parental issues, Sibling Issues, Financial issues, Marital Issues, Honesty & Integrity, and on and on...
What one gets out of the movie will largely be determined by where you are personally in life and your knowledge of the bible...
So jacob the movie gets my vote and i highly recommend purchasing it from cduniverse because not only do they have the best prices i was able to find anywhere, but they have a large collection of biblical movies so i was able to purchase all of them in one place and the shipping was extremely reasonable, not to mention I received all my items within 3 or 4 days... and that was with economy shipping Submitted by a reviewer (Silicon Valley, Ca) Was This Review Helpful? Jacob DVD For seven long years, Jacob has labored to earn the right to marry beautiful Rachel. Now the seven years are up - but Rachel's devious father substitutes his elder daughter on the wedding night. Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket) and Lara Flynn Boyle (Men in Black II) play Jacob and Rachel in one of the greatest love stories from the Bible. Highlights of Jacob's life - how he usurped his brother Esau's birthright and blessing, the pillow of stone, the ladder to heaven, wrestling with God - are set against the heartache and hope of his relationship with the woman he seems destined never to possess. Sustained by his faith in God and his love for Rachel, Jacob perseveres...and becomes the father of the 12 tribes of Israel.

Jacob video
$7.05 An adaptation of the legendary biblical tale, director Bruce Beresford's film stars Richard Gere as King David, favorite of the God of Israel. Although only a shepherd boy, David is anointed as heir to the throne of Israel by Samuel (Dennis Quilley), who is disgusted with the weakness of Saul (Edward Woodward). When David brings the protracted war with the Philistines to an end by defeating their champion Goliath (George Eastman) in battle, he is celebrated by his people but must flee the country to avoid being killed by Saul, whose jealousy he has aroused. When Saul and his sons finally die in battle, David assumes the throne--but not without a sense that it is covered in blood. As time passes, he finds himself in vicious battles with neighboring tribes to ensure the survival of the Israelites. Despite David's many achievements, the exercise of power has a corrupting influence on the patriarch, and ultimately, even he is no longer favored by his God. Donald McAlpine's photography is superb, as is Beresford's direction.

| | Man Of The Year DVD (2003) Film Movement
Jacob review
$16.09 Brazil's underground crime circle makes an intriguing setting for this tense action film from director Jose Henrique Fonseca. Viewers are swept up in the drama of criminal activity as the film's protagonist, Maiquel, transforms from a nobody to a local hero and then to a sought-after criminal in the short span of 24 hours. Patricia Melo's acclaimed novel O MATADOR formed the basis for the film--which begins innocently enough with a bet and a man dying his hair blonde. Creatively photographed with hints of American film noir style, MAN OF THE YEAR marks another solid contribution to Brazilian filmmaking.
