| | Ensiferum Dragonheads CD (2006)
Voice Of Wilderness
$8.15 Finland’s sword-bearing metal merchants Ensiferum present a crushing mini-CD, filled to the brim with melodies honouring the Nordic pagan heritage, delivered with the firm conviction of seasoned professionals they are. “Dragonheads” is also the first Ensiferum recording to feature Petri Lindroos from Norther as a full member of the band on guitar and vocals, filling the boots left by Jari Mäenpää (now pursuing a successful solo career with Wintersun). Another newcomer is Janne Parviainen (ex-Barathrum, ex-Waltari) on drums, who replaced Oliver Fokin. The line-up is completed with founding member Markus Toivonen (guitar), Sami Hinkka (bass) and Meiju Enho (keyboards).
Apparently, the widespread fan acclaim and glowing reviews bestowed upon their first two albums weren't enough to hold Finnish folk-metal ensemble Ensiferum together -- ...

| | Jaime Ciero Volar CD (2007)
Voice Of Wilderness
$15.15 Jaime CieroIf one were to travel into the heart of Chile and turn on any radio station, you can rest assure that he or she would hear a song written by Jaime Ciero. For the past several years Jaime Ciero has been the words and melodies behind some of Latin America’s biggest artists. Today, he steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight introducing his songs and his voice with the release of his debut album titled Volar.Born October 13th, 1971 in Santiago Chile, Jaime’s music career began at five years-old when he wrote his first song, a ballad written for his mom’s friend, his first crush. It was a sign that he would go on to become one of the most successful balladeers in Chile. At the age of seven, by observing his father and uncle, Jaime learned to play the guitar and at sixteen, he discovered love in the shape of a bass guitar. Within six months of perfecting the bass, Jaime became one of the most talented and requested bass players in Chile. He began playing shows with different artists and recorded on various albums.Always having the hunger to grow as a musician, he studied harmony, and learned other instruments like piano and drums. At the young age of seventeen, he was arranging songs and conducting orchestras throughout Chile. Then one day, while working with the Chilean group Ariztia, he discovered that the group was looking for songs. He wrote the song Finge, which the group recorded and took to the top of the charts. After the success of Finge, critics were skeptical about Jaime as a composer and predicted that he would be a “one hit wonder”. Wanting to prove otherwise, Jaime wrote the song El Fotographo for the artist Adrian that also went on to be a number one hit. Jaime continued to prove that he was just as talented of a composer as he was a musician, writing songs for Luis Jara, Alberto Plaza, Luis Fonsi, and Alejandra Guzman. In 1995 Jaime was the 2nd place finalist at Chile’s world famous Vina del Mar festival and was also awarded “Best Musician of Chile” by the Chilean writer’s society SCD.In 2001, at the height of his career, Jaime moved to Los Angeles with hopes of learning more about life and conquering new challenges. He continued to write and produce songs for other artists, but the desire to sing was calling him more and more. Then one day, his daughter Camila asked him, “Why don’t you sing your own songs when you have such a beautiful voice”? At that moment, he knew it was time.In late November of 2006, with the help from some of the most talented musicians in the business, Jaime embarked on the production of his debut album. Writing, arranging, and producing every song on the album, Volar is a fresh new sound to Latin music. With songs like Volar, Ahora and Me Faltas Tu, Jaime stays true to his essence as a balladeer, but also mixes romance with ...
