For loyal fans of 112, PLEASURE & PAIN certainly won't disappoint, as the Atlanta quartet delivers more of their tender R&B/gospel love odes, with a couple of sufficiently danceable up-tempo numbers thrown in for good measure. The men of 112 relate tales of love in a mature, all-encompassing manner; few R&B groups would have the inner strength to express the phrases of self-doubt and reflection ("What If") or wisdom ("Let This Go") presented here. 112 can as effectively pull off the luxuriously funky "U Already Know" as they pledge eternal dedication on "Nowhere." With PLEASURE & PAIN, 112 continues to exhibit a flair for heartfelt, impassioned, introspective songs of devotion.
It's somewhat ironic that 112's first parental-advisory album sticker would come after leaving the umbrella of Bad Boy Entertainment. However, that's not to imply that 112 have altered or toughened their style in any manner. PLEASURE & PAIN, sharing its name with a track off the foursome's 1996 debut, contains more of the sensitive, impassioned, consummately clean-cut love songs that made the act famous. (The warning sticker actually stems from relatively polite guest raps from Three 6 Mafia, T.I., and Jermaine Dupri.)

U Already Know This was definitely the one of the most slept on albums of 2005 and i would go as far to say one of the best as well. At a time when R&B groups are extinct and real rare. 112 came and showed you what it is all about. Great harmonies, great lyrics. This album is way better than their last (Hot & Wet) 112 delivered on this one. I'd advise anyone to go get this album. MUST HAVE!! | | Disturbing Tha Peace Presents Bobby Valentino CD (2005)
Pleasure & Pain CD music
$11.99 Soul man Bobby Valentino, the first R&B star on Ludacris's Disturbing Tha Peace label, may have seemed an overnight success when his hit "Slow Down" rocketed up the charts in 2005. However, there is a reason Valentino's self-titled album sounds more richly honed than most debuts. Like Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, and other R&B artists whose breakout records revealed a deeper history, Bobby Valentino knocked around the music world for years (primarily as member of the 1990s vocal group Mista) before Ludacris signed the Mississippi-born singer.
The experience pays off for Valentino on a record that frequently travels outside of standard R&B territory, as his capable voice ...
| | Pretty Ricky Bluestars CD (2005)
Pleasure & Pain music CDs
$10.15 "Get You Right," a smooth throwback ballad from Miami outfit Pretty Ricky's debut, BLUESTARS, features a hardcore rap that name-checks 1990s groups H-Town and Jodeci. While the four youthful brothers of Pretty Ricky were likely in grade school when these artists had their hits, it's a fitting reference; the quartet's sound reveals an innate feel for the New Jack Swing sound of that time. This approach is evident in both the record's production and its raw sensuality, and the overall vibe is updated with ...
| | Ying Yang Twins United State Of Atlanta CD (2005)
Pleasure & Pain songs
$14.15 Like Outkast, the Ying Yang Twins are progenitors of southern hip-hop that's a mix of gangsta rap, party jams, and jittery beats, and on UNITED STATE OF ATLANTA the Ying Yang Twins approach the game like a house party thrown in a recording studio. For starters, the wide variety of guests popping up throughout this 70-minute-plus project adds a feeling of randomness, recklessness, and fun. Neo-soul crooner Anthony Hamilton provides some honeyed vocals on the gospel-flavored "Long Time," and Maroon 5's Adam Levine holds his own on the electro-funk of "Live Again," with its nod to the travails of exotic dancers. There's also plenty of support from Dirty South brethren such as Mike Jones & Mr. Collipark (on "Badd"), and tough gal Jacki-O (on the DMX-flavored "Hoes"). The interspersed skits comment on a range of topics: "We at War" touches on the seriousness of America's foreign policy, while things get quite a bit raunchier ...
| | R Kelly TP.3: Reloaded CD (2005) Bonus DVD; Limited Edition
Pleasure & Pain album
$8.99 The rest of the album provides thirteen tracks of Kelly's typically strong and sensual modern R&B. He starts off the record with a reminder that he's far from a one-note artist, coming on as hard as anyone with the anthemic single "Playa's Club," then rolls into a 1970s groove with help from the always-spectacular Snoop Dogg on "Happy Summertime," before ...

Pleasure & Pain songs
$26.29 Like Toronto's Metric and Portland's the Blow, Sweden's Andrea Kellerman (aka Firefox AK) occupies a middle ground between D.I.Y. dance-pop and synth-driven, new wave-inspired indie rock. Her debut album, issued in Sweden in 2006 and picked up by Minty Fresh the following year, is flush with gleaming keyboard riffs and chunky programmed beats, but it also has a rocky grit that sets it apart from the pure pop likes of Robyn and Annie -- it's telling that Kellerman initially ...
