5 stars Great show!
This is Sarah just as she was beginning to crack the surface of mainstream. Great performance with rare archival footage as bonus features! You will love this dvd if you like Sarah, I promise!

3 stars not her best live dvd
Im a really big fan of sarah, but i didnt really care for this dvd very much. The video quality was around vhs caliber which was kind of off-putting. Also, i never saw a tracklist before i bought it, and i figured since it was called F.T.E. live that it would have my favorite song from that cd, 'elsewhere' on the dvd but it didn't. What i did like about the dvd is that between each song you get to see sarah talk about her music and things like that. In summary, if you want a live sarah dvd, stick with Mirrorball or Afterglow Live. Both are FANTASTIC!

Chico Freeman showed a great deal of potential in the 1970s when the young tenor saxophonist recorded frequently. His profile has been a lot lower since that era, but he is still quite capable of playing rewarding music as he shows on this project, The Emissary, from 1995. Teamed with a group of San Francisco Bay-area musicians who form the Josh Jones Latin Jazz Ensemble, Freeman plays quite well on tenor, soprano, and bass clarinet. The music ranges from Latin jazz to world music, with a touch of reggae and pop, and a relatively straight-ahead "Seven Steps to Heaven." Since the Josh Jones group is essentially a rhythm section, Freeman is the main voice throughout ...

Ridley Scott (BLADE RUNNER, ALIEN) transports Hollywood to second-century Rome in this rousing historical epic that proudly harkens back to such films as BEN-HUR and SPARTACUS. Russell Crowe plays Maximus, a Roman general who leads the troops in conquering Germania for the empire. When an aging Marcus Aurelius (Richard Harris) tells Maximus that he'd like him to rule Rome once he's gone, a classic confrontation ensues between the brave and charming ...

The focus of the concert, naturally, is McLachlan's voice. Breathy, emotive, and threaded with embellishments, the singer's performances replicate her studio takes to the note. Likewise, her band creates a gauzy, shimmering wash of sound, perfectly complementing McLachlan, and giving the whole a high-end sheen. But the real treasure here is the accompanying DVD, which features live footage of all the songs on the audio disc, plus additional tunes (including a cover of Paul McCartney's "Blackbird"), videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and the politically motivated short film "World on Fire." For fans who have never seen McLachlan perform, or wish to relive the experience, AFTERGLOW LIVE is the next best thing to seeing the pop icon in person. This live release captures her 2004 concert tour including over 20 songs with all of Sarah's hits. Sarah lets her fans take a glimpse at her personal ...
