| | Fall Live From The Vaults: Oldham 1978 CD Fall Discography of CDs
The Fall had only been together about a year by the time they recorded this 1978 live set in Oldham, but they'd already established one of the most forceful and distinctive aesthetics in post-punk. Led by Mark E. Smith's literate verbal associations and snarling speak-sing delivery, the band--especially live--was a maelstrom of clanging guitars and stuttering rhythms.
Recorded shortly before their landmark set LIVE AT THE WITCH TRIALS, this show boasts one of the band's most rugged and fierce configurations. The Oldham set shows the band at their cacophonous, visceral best as they plow through classics like "Repetition" and "Bingo Master's Breakout," displaying the origins of their reputation as one of the most affectingly caustic bands in rock.
This recording dates from the bands very early days and includes such key Fall tracks such as "Bingo Master's Breakout", which was originally found, on the bands debut EP. The set also includes material from the album "Live At The Witch Trials" including "Industrial Estate", "Mother-Sister" and "Frightened" which at the time of this recording had yet to be released. This recording has been re mastered for release and will appeal to the large fan base this band commands. Live From The Vaults: Oldham 1978 music CDs
$18.79 Spirit's second album continued the band's melding of rock, folk, and jazz elements. It includes the group's biggest hit, "I Got a Line on You," which still sounds fresh decades after its release. Producer Lou Adler brought in noted jazz arranger Marty Paich to orchestrate a number of the set's songs, including the dazzling "Aren't You Glad," which features fuzzy and sustained guitar notes flying through a classically rendered piano figure. Underneath, a bed of strings drifts in like weather, powered by a propulsive beat and shower of hooks. As is the case with Spirit's self-titled debut, THE FAMILY THAT PLAYS TOGETHER finds Spirit at the exuberantly confident upswing of its career. This winning original lineup stayed together for two more albums (CLEAR and the masterly TWELVE DREAMS OF DR. SARDONICUS) before disbanding.
On this, the second Spirit album, the group put all of the elements together that made them the legendary (and underrated) band that they were. Jazz, rock & roll, and even classical elements combined to create one of the cleanest, most tasteful syntheses of its day. The group had also improved measurably from their fine debut album, especially in the area of vocals. The album's hit single, "I Got a Line on You," boasts ...

Their ceaseless internet networking through sites such as this and weekly e-newsletters produced fantastic reviews from fans the world over and helped NOXIOUS to sell over 2000 copies of their first album âNOXIOUSâ. The band also played nearly 190 shows in 2006 supporting the release of that record. Touring regionally up and down ...
