BANDVIVIL is a current Japanese power-trio led by guitar player Issei TAKAMI. As expected, this musician has a powerful rhythmic section held by bass-player Naoki SAWADA and drummer Jun ISOBE. Our three men endeavour to play a music that is as powerful as straightforward, taking its force in a very wide variety of styles. Progressive rock, jazz-rock fusion, funk, blues and heavy-metal are thus processed and served very hot, with a saucerful of local sauce ! So claimed influences are also very wide: Jimi HENDRIX, Frank ZAPPA, Percy JONES (BRAND X), KING CRIMSON, Vinnie COLLAIUTA... Patti O'Brien Melita grew up in New York's Capital District in a family of church choir and barbershop harmony singers. Although she studied classical piano and voice for several years, her real love proved to be traditional jazz. After singing in jazz and dance bands for a while, Patti took a hiatus from performing. It wasn't until much later that her new found friends discovered her talent and clandestinely entered her name on the program of a major dance festival as singing with a swing band. Even after an extended lapse in performing, Patti found herself right at home at the microphone. Since, she has been heard singing at festivals and swing dances throughout upstate New York and New England, delighting audiences with her oh-so-smooth and alluring voice.She has been a long-time co-director of the celebrated Dance Flurry Festival which draws 4,500+ dance enthusiasts annually to Saratoga Springs and coordinated the Hudson-Mohawk Traditional Dances monthly swing dance events. She is an official consultant of all that is danceable at Falcon Ridge Festival held annually in Hillsdale, N.Y. Patti plays variety parts in musicals including Patsy Cline in a Legendary Entertainers' series and stars as one of the "Andrews Sisters" in the World War II musical "Songs That Won The War". She also plays one of the Cotton Club singers in the musical "Bourbon St. To The Cotton Club" As a swing dance afficionado Patti's expertise on "music that motivates people to dance" enabled her to assemble a variety of material on her CD that defies the listener not to dance or at the very least begin the toe-tapping exercise. Together with producer Peter Ecklund, Patti recorded "Swing It!", a collection of vintage swing dance tunes arranged for the most discriminating dancers and listeners. IN 1994 a vocal quartet was formed, joining the long establish instrumental quintet, JAZZ SPECTRUM. Bob Zaun, piano, organized the vocal ensemble and, from the outset, has written all their arrangements. Since Jazz Spectrum's inception in 1980, there have been surprisingly few personnel changes.THE SINGERSSTACY EIFERT, alto, is Bob Zaun's daughter and is an original member. She is married to John, the drummer. They met when Stacy was a freshman and John a fifth year senior at the University of Illinois. They both played snare drum in the Marching Illini drum line. PEGGY CONIFF, soprano, was a member of Choral Dynamics, a local community chorus, when she met Bob in 1993. Bob was playing acoustic bass for the choral group. After experimenting with a couple different lead voices, Peggy was asked to "fill-in." She's been "filling-in" since 1994.DAN MAHER, tenor, was also a Choral Dynamics singer. He impressed Bob with his precise pitch and clear tone.
