Newsical: All The Stuff That's Fit To Spoof Soundtrack CD music
$13.79 Founded in 1988, the Irish Repertory Theatre of New York is an off-Broadway theater company that generally spends its time reviving the works of Irish playwrights like Sean O'Casey and Brendan Behan, though it also extends its charter to cover writers of Irish lineage, such as Oscar Wilde, George Bernard Shaw, and Eugene O'Neill. Still, doing Finian's Rainbow is a stretch, as it was written ...

Newsical: All The Stuff That's Fit To Spoof Soundtrack album
$15.65 For years, Hollywood made a habit out of turning Broadway musicals into films, so it probably shouldn't be too surprising that the tables have turned: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a 1988 feature, became a Broadway musical in 2004. Like the movie, ...

Newsical: All The Stuff That's Fit To Spoof Soundtrack CD music
$13.69 The peak of the so-called boy band craze in pop music came in about the year 2000; by 2002, the fashion was over. Altar Boyz, a musical about a boy band, arrived off-Broadway on March 1, 2005, which may be as close to currency as the musical theater gets. But there is nothing as out as that which was recently in, and the show plays as a period piece no less than Forever Plaid, another off-Broadway musical ...

Newsical: All The Stuff That's Fit To Spoof Soundtrack songs
$8.69 L’AvventuraYour Star Was ShiningElliptical LP-158 (CD) Produced by Bond BerglandRelease date: February 15th, 2009 Everybody loves a Roxy Music cover tune. Commuters, dashing through the London Underground will deftly dodge the pony-tailed busker yowling “Fire And Rain”. But these same harried nine-to-fivers will screech to a halt and even miss their train, for Roxy’s “Virginia Plain”. Ask Jeff Davis. On an extended London visit to collaborate with legendary guitar-friend Andy Gill (Gang of Four) in 1999, Davis spent daytimes in the King's Cross Underground, singing tunes from the satellite-radio station in his head. One Tuesday, Davis’ version of the Roxy classic “Mother of Pearl” KO’d fellow-busker Fergus Griffin on Platform 2, and Griffin’s 4:40 to Brixton left without him. Pulling his guitar from its case, Griffin joined in on the chorus, and their collaboration began.A weeks-long “tube-tour” followed, with the pair performing throughout the London Underground to ever-enthusiastic throngs. One night at Hammersmith station, they stopped to watch a lone upright bassist wow a crowd with Lou Reed’s “Who Loves The Sun”, accompanied by a small dancing monkey, no less! The bassist ...
