$4.99 The Rankin/Bass animagic film Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer first appeared on December 6, 1964. Since then, it has become the longest-running of all holiday TV specials (with, we hope, no end in sight). It's fitting that the grandfather of all Christmas specials features Burl Ives, still remembered warmly by millions as the voice behind the film's narrator, Sam the Snowman. Although this soundtrack bears his name, Ives appears only on a handful of songs: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "A Holly Jolly Christmas," and "Silver and Gold." The remaining vocals are handled by various cast members: "Jingle Jingle Jingle" features ...

Can You Hear Those Pioneers songs
$13.49 The French singer-songwriter, Gil Rose made his musical début with the punk-rock'n'roll groups The Paralytics and The Bohemians. Rose had been originally attracted to, and influenced by, the Anglo-Saxon tradition as played by the likes of Alex Chilton, Suicide, The Kinks, T-Rex and The Velvet Underground. Eager for a different experience, he struck out on his own, giving his first solo concert in 1996. This was followed by a series of gigs in such diverse venues as the bars and squats of his new-found stamping-ground of Geneva. Then Rose began to look elsewhere for inspiration and found it in such french musicians as Nino Ferrer, Dutronc, and Ronnie Bird. Up to this point, Rose had been concentrating on writing his lyrics in English which certainly was a good exercise in rhythm but his new musical influences gave him a desire to try writing, in what he likes to call, The Original Version, thus helping him find a more personal tone. This passage led to a new period of prolific writing accumulating in a sizable repertoire of songs. To record these works it was quite natural for Rose to turn to the accomplices of his early days for support. We find jack O. Leroy, guitarist and vocalist, whose talents had previously been noted in albums by Drive Blind and Kevin K. There is Mat Mysterious, bassist, the Pop Sir of the band, who has also recorded with Drive Blind and another band, Via Romance. And last, but not least, Doc Poison, the man with the harmonica from Rose’s Paralytic days, who had performed with The Sonic Reducers and Mystery Girls as well.In 2005, the band released their first album, Le Roi de Rien, (The King of nothing), rock purer than hard and slightly acid –pop ballads. Rose and his men had laid the foundations of their new style. Their regular collaboration transformed the group into a new collective adventure: Gil rose is dead. Long Live Gil rose et les Hydropathes. Le Roi de rien is warmly received, obtaining good write-ups in such publications as Rock‘N’Folk and Abus Dangereux. This is followed by a promotional tour, welding the four definitively together and leading to share the bill with some of their favourite bands including the Australian group, TNT. They participate in several tribute album : Trash Is Neat: Tribute to the Cramps; Tribute to Rowland ...

$11.39 BIODavid K. Payne started singing at an early age. Those who knew him then remember a young boy who would stand on a chair so that he could be seen singing by the congregation.
