A former Army scout is hired by Wyoming cattle ranchers to stop the violence. An Old West bounty hunter named Tom Horn rides into town, his reputation as a Indian tracker preceding him. A rancher quickly hires Tom to protect his stock and kill cattle rustlers if necessary. When, for political reasons, Tom is framed and jailed for murder, he comes to the realization that he is part of a dying breed. Mc Queen plays a rugged man of action who rids the big-sky country of rustlers but is ultimately forced to stop his one-man war. Ending is provocative. Color by Technicolor.

$10.35 Set in the early 1880s, this Western directed by Kevin Costner (DANCES WITH WOLVES, THE POSTMAN) is a classic tale of the good guys verses the bad guys with a romance thrown in for good measure. Boss Spearman (Robert Duvall) and Charley Waite (Kevin Costner) are free grazers, riding herds of cattle across the country and grazing as they go. But a local rancher, Denton Baxter (Michael Gambon), considers Boss and his boys thieves, and is determined to run them out of his town by any means possible--even murder. Duvall is endearing as the tough but tender Boss, who has the courage of his convictions and refuses to be intimidated by Baxter. Costner's Charley has worked for Boss for ten years while trying to forget his past, only to find himself drawn back into conflict. Lovable Mose (Abraham Benrubi) and teenager Button (Diego Luna) round out the free grazers' team. Annette Bening stars as the town doctor's sister, Sue, who is drawn to Charley's gentle demeanor and is unfazed by his ability ...

| | Maiku Hama, Private Eye - Trilogy DVDs (1993)
Tom Horn DVD
$42.99 With THE MOST TERRIBLE TIME OF MY LIFE, Kaizo Hayashi creates a witty, action-packed homage/spoof to French New Wave cinema, American film noir, and Japanese gangster films. Detective Maiku "Mike" Hama (Masatoshi Nagase) is used to dealing with the underworld, but he takes on more than he can handle when he meets a mah-jongg parlor waiter with a gang secret that could blow up the underworld. As Hama becomes further entwined with the waiter, he descends into a hell of gang wars, revenge, and deception that will forever change his life.
THE STAIRWAY TO THE DISTANT PAST once again stars Masatoshi Nagase as Private Detective Mike Hama, who, when the film begins, is practically homeless. Things change, however, with the arrival of Lilly, a beautiful and mysterious stripper whose true identity may hold the secret to Mike's past. Hayashi brings part two of his acclaimed series to life with vivid color and graphic violence captured in an ironic and highly stylized way.
Concluding director Kaizo Hayashi's Mike Hama Private Investigator Trilogy, THE TRAP opens with P.I. Mike Hama feeling that he's at the top of the world. It appears that the perennially troubled investigator finally has his romantic and work life in order when a visit from a mysterious messenger throws a dagger into his newfound happiness. In trying to decipher some meaning behind the messenger's cryptic orders, Hama unknowingly becomes the prime suspect in a long line of gruesome murders. As he falls deeper and deeper into Yokahama's criminal underbelly, Mike's prospects appear to grow dimmer by the minute. By far the darkest and most mysterious of the Mike Hama Trilogy, THE TRAP is an appropriately nightmarish end to Hayashi's twisted cinematic journey.
