| | Electro Goth Tribute To Prince CD
These Prince covers are either too silly or too serious (or both) and most of them are neither goth nor electro. Several tracks on Electro Goth Tribute to Prince originally appeared on Party O' the Times, another Cleopatra compilation released (naturally) in 1999. The combination of contributors will be familiar to anyone who has paid attention to Cleopatra's releases throughout the past several years, with the likes of Information Society, Dead or Alive, Funker Vogt, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, and even Dale Bozzio (credited as "Missing Persons' Dale Bozzio") in on the action. You don't have to be a Prince fan to feel dirty for giving it any attention. Bizarrely enough, one of the better tracks is Rebecca Romijn's "Darling Nikki," produced by now-ex husband John Stamos. ~ Andy Kellman
Personnel: Neal X (programming).

Electro Goth Tribute To Prince CD music
$10.05 "Whenever Whenever Whenever" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
For a brief moment in the mid-90s, Maxwell was his generation's Marvin Gaye. This live set, probably his finest moment on wax, features the bonus track "'Til The Cops Come Knockin'," as well as "The Lady Suite," "Gotta Get Closer," and five more.
Riding the wave of young turks delving into old-school soul that includes D'Angelo, Eryka Badu and Adriana Evans, Maxwell's URBAN HANG SUITE heralded the arrival of a balladeer who combined Al Green's seductiveness with Prince's sensuality. MTV UNPLUGGED shows off the live side of this young free spirit whose musical roots reach through the Quiet Storm into some pretty unlikely ...

Electro Goth Tribute To Prince CD music
$19.10 NEVER A DULL MOMENT picks up where EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY left off. Here we have more raucous rock & roll with healthy dollops of soul and twang thrown in for good measure. Always looking for a good songwriter to cover, Stewart's honorees here include Jimi Hendrix ("Angel"), Dylan ("Mama You Been On My Mind"), and Rod's personal hero, Sam Cooke ("Twistin' The Night Away"). Sidling up nicely next to these heartfelt interpretations are some of Stewart's finest original songs. Teaming with spiritual ...
| | Shane Faubert San Blass CD (1993)
Electro Goth Tribute To Prince music CDs
$13.29 With Faubert's second solo album, even vestiges of the pop-rock revivalism of his early career have largely faded away. In the 1990s, he's become more of a folk-rocker with an indie pop sensibility, and started to open his lyrical canvas beyond the habitual earnest love odes. On much of this disc, there's a surprising British/Celtic folk tinge, which hits you up front on the opening "I'm Alright," with its accordion and what sounds like plucked mandolin. The ...

Electro Goth Tribute To Prince CD music
$11.49 After putting in years of hard graft with highly respected Buffalo, NY hardcore acts such as Despair and Buried Alive, vocalist Scott Vogel made the cross-country move to L.A. in 2002 in order to start a mascara-smeared glam rock band on the Sunset Strip. Just kidding. In fact, the preternaturally pissed singer sought out like-minded cohorts with whom to launch his next, aptly named hardcore venture, Terror, quickly invading the local club scene, heading out on van-driven national tours, and signing with Trustkill Records for the release of their 2004 debut album, One with the Underdogs. Two years, and countless roads traveled later, the quintet entered Massachusetts' Planet Z Studios to work on their sophomore effort Always the Hard Way, recording with renowned producer Zeuss ...
