| | Ron Kearns Live At Montpelier CD Ron Kearns Discography of CDs
This CD features a new group of players from the previous three. The Ron Kearns Quintet on this recording has performed together for the past two and a half years. The group features a Sax/Trombone frontline similar to early Phil Woods recordings but has it's own unique flavor. This live CD captures the flavor and feel of this group in a live setting and as you listen you forget it's a live recording until you hear the applause. The energy and genuine fun the group is having comes across very affectively on this recording. On Spice and Sugar the group sounds like the Jazz Crusaders of the 1970's.
Personnel: Ron Kearns (alto saxophone); Ron Kearns; Larry Brown , Larry Brown (piano); Timmy Collins, Tim Collins (vibraphone); Kent Miller (double bass); John Jensen (trombone); Mike Smith (drums). Audio Mixers: Ron Kearns; Jon Miller. Recording information: Montpelier Cultural Arts Center, Laurael, MD (10/08/2004).

Live At Montpelier
$17.09 San Francisco Bay Area native Lisa Baney has been singing almost as long as she's been making sounds. Raised in a family infused with music (her grandfather was an opera singer, her uncle played stride piano in bars during WWII), she learned to sing harmony at age five with her girl cousins, sitting in the back of her uncle's Plymouth on road trips as he taught them Navy drinking songs in four parts. She was 18 when she had her first paying gig, and put together her first jazz band when she was 20, doing clubs gigs in San Francisco for a pittance plus drinks.Early ...

Live At Montpelier
$16.45 I enjoy finding surprising ways to arrange classic songs like these: a Brazilian-samba version of 'Fly Me to the Moon,' a reggae treatment for 'Summertime,' and 'Come Together' as a hip-hop/funk tune. It is such a thrill to see ideas take shape through the talents and skills of my fellow musicians.A wonderful recording that captures my five-piece group in two concert settings, and reflects the spontaneity, creativity, collaboration, and the "go-for-it" attitude of a live performance.Happy listening and welcome to the show!- John Adams___BiographyAs an accomplished acoustic and electric bassist, John Adams is one of the Southwest's most versatile and in-demand jazz, pop and studio musicians. He currently leads various performing groups. John served as Music Director and performed weekly for three-and-a-half years at Dallas' prestigious Crescent Court Hotel. Adams holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of North Texas, where for ten years he was the jazz bass professor. He is also active as a producer/arranger, a composer, clinician, and an instructional author. John toured extensively with jazz great Woody Herman and others. He has backed vocalists Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney, Wayne Watson, and Sandi Patti, and jazz artists such as Randy Brecker, Marvin Stamm, Bill Mays, Carl Fontana, Chet Baker, Clark Terry, and Dave Liebman. His broad musical background has also included extensive orchestral, pop, and show work. Adams' debut CD, "Jump Shot," ('96) features New York and regional artists, and showcases his formidable ...

$16.45 Sheryl-Dawn knew from an early age that she wanted to be involved in music. She received musical training early in her childhood by her talented mom whom she studied guitar with. She also studied piano, bass and voice. It was not until later in her life that Sheryl-Dawn began to explore songwriting. The rest as they say is history.Sheryl-Dawn Ryan, songstress/musician/recording artist recently joined SOLID FUEL as their lead Vocalist, she fronts the band wonderfully and everyone knows she truly enjoys what she does when they watch her perform. “Awesome” truly describes her performances. Her first CD, released primarily in Australia and New Zealand was well received, and “Here Comes Love” topped the Independent charts at No. 11. Her newest project, “I Believe in Me” is now available and the title track “Believe in Me” and “Sweet Low Rider” are garnering interest & being played on some country stations in a regular rotation and ...
