Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection album for sale Product Description
Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection album for sale by Def Leppard was released May 17, 2005 on the Mercury label. In the mid-1980s, there were few hard-rock bands as popular as Sheffield, England's Def Leppard. Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection songs Influenced by the glam rock of Queen, Slade, and the Sweet, the quartet reveled in the style's high-energy elements, while trading the outlandish imagery for a no-frills, denim-clad look that made them even more accessible to the masses. With 1983's PYROMANIA and its delayed follow-up punch, 1987's HYSTERIA, Def Leppard became an international phenomenon, unleashing hit after hit, including the riff-heavy, shout-along singles "Rock of Ages," "Pour Some Sugar on Me," and "Armageddon It." This collection presents every song on the previously released VAULT: GREATEST HITS 1980-1995, along with an entire second disc of additional album tracks, including the AC/DC-like "High 'N' Dry (Saturday Night)" and HYSTERIA's anthemic ode to "Women." Throughout the decades, the group endured its share of upheavals and tragedies--drummer Rick Allen lost an arm in a 1985 accident and guitarist Steve Clark died in 1991--but they continued recording into the 21st century (see the 2002 track "Now"), revealing a determination that most of their peers lacked. Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection CD music is a 2-disc set with 35 songs. ...See Full Description

Metallica Metallica CD (1991) Top Seller
Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection buy CD music When a genre-defining group like Metallica, whose past albums have rocked the charts with virtually no airplay, enlists the aid of a hit-making producer like Bob Rock, the result is bound to be monumental. METALLICA, their sixth studio release, surpasses all expectations.
METALLICA is an extremely heavy album. It carries a presence, a huge, live sound different from that heard on their previous recordings. What once could not be tamed has been refined, resulting in a fuller, more powerful guitar sound in an already guitar-intensive band. They have evolved from the messy, unabashed thrashers of their youth into a more confident, poised and angry bunch, not only retaining their fire but stoking it into a chunky, tight-fisted maelstrom of scowling energy.
Serious riffs provide punch and punctuation for James Hetfield's gruff vocals which rage against society and religion, and revel in suspicion and sarcasm. METALLICA is full of songs just as potent as the hugely popular "Enter Sandman," yet is not as complicated as their recent albums have seemed. "Sad But True," which is just as low down and dirty as anything labeled "grunge," exemplifies the poise of the metal band that can foresee the punchlines to their riffs and has the patience to wait for them.
Recorded at One On One Recording, Los Angeles, California between October 1990 and June 1991.
Personnel: James Hetfield (vocals, guitar); Kirk Hammett (guitar); Lars Ulrich (drums).

It will always be a mystery how a grown man can spend his life wearing a school tie and short pants and receive adulation from the heavy metal fraternity. HM followers do not tolerate a cissy, yet the hugely talented Angus Young has become something of a hero. His riff-laden fills, combined with the tough vocals of the late Bon Scott, made AC/DC one of the genre's all-time leading lights. Bordering on the lighter side of metal, songs such as 'Love Hungry Man', 'Touch Too Much' and the title track will always delight.

Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection album for sale Bursting forth in the late 1970s, Van Halen made its mark by melding the hammering wallop of hard rock with an iconoclastic approach to the guitar. With striking virtuosity, Eddie Van Halen's guitar playing succeeded in turning the heads and dropping the jaws of a wide range of listeners. Matched with the acrobatic energy of frontman David Lee Roth and the formidable rhythm section of bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Alex Van Halen, these combined elements added up to Van Halen's hugely success musical formula.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS is a two-disc overview of more than 25 years of Van Halen recordings. The set contains a few of the now-standard new songs included in such offerings. Placed on the first disc, this trio of tunes finds VH's second singer, Sammy Hagar, back on board (he'd left in '96 when the band planned to record with Roth again). In fact, the compilation's title (taken from the Hagar-era song) is a reference to the band's two major eras, as demarcated by their distinctly different frontmen. The result is a collection that features raucous, hyperactive songs with Roth ("Hot for Teacher," "Jump," "Unchained") and soaring ballads and mid-tempo anthems with Hagar ("Dreams," "Right Now," "Finish What Ya Started").
Includes three previously unreleased tracks.

Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection CD music Four years after PYROMANIA, Def Leppard were a comparative write-off. Dismissed by critics, seemingly dogged by bad luck, with drummer Rick Allen losing an arm in a car accident, HYSTERIA had to be an album to turn heads. In retrospect, it sounded like the first true hard rock record for the CD generation. Ambitious arrangements and remixes on songs such as "Rocket" and "Armaggedon It," a crisp single in "Animal," and a dense paean to love with "Love Bites," all bets were off. Def Leppard had created an intriguing language of ideas that still speaks volumes more than a decade on.

Sammy Hagar Essential Red Collection CD (2004) Top Seller
Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection buy CD music Though he didn't become a true worldwide superstar until he joined Van Halen in 1985, Sammy Hagar was long respected by fans and peers alike for his uncompromising commitment to stripped-down, unadulterated hard rock. A bluesy wailer on par with Robert Plant and Paul Rodgers, the California native first garnered acclaim as the lead singer of Montrose, but also scored several genre-defining hits on his own. To the delight of his intensely loyal followers, the Red Rocker's sound changed little throughout his career, the majority of his recordings consisting of the same heavy drums, hard-charging guitar, and rock-solid bass with which he made his mark in the early '70s.
The most comprehensive single-disc compilation of Hagar's solo material, THE ESSENTIAL RED COLLECTION culls his biggest chart-toppers ("There's Only One Way to Rock" and the revved-up anthem "I Can't Drive 55") and notable album tracks ("Red," "Two Sides of Love"). The set also features one Montrose song ("Bad Motor Scooter"), unreleased demos (Thinking of You," "Call My Name"), and soundtrack contributions (including the title tracks to the films HEAVY METAL and FAST TIME AT RIDGEMONT HIGH).

Yeah! CD (2006)
Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection songs Riding a wave of renewed popularity that began with 2005's well-received ROCK OF AGES retrospective, Def Leppard released YEAH! the following year. Rather than issuing new original material, however, the U.K. group opted to record a set of songs by its late-1960s/early-'70s British (and, in one case, U.S.) rock precursors, effectively going back to its roots. As the lighthearted liner notes and humorous accompanying photos (featuring each band member inserted into a different classic album cover) indicate, frontman Joe Elliot and company clearly had a good time making this disc. While the ensemble offers up fairly straightforward versions of T. Rex's "20th Century Boy" and Blondie's "Hanging on the Telephone," David Essex's "Rock On" gets a bright, metallic facelift. Despite the absence of original material, the ensemble hasn't sounded this full of life since '87's smash HYSTERIA.
Def Leppard: Joe Elliot, Phil Collen, Rick Allen , Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell.
