I bought this CD having only heard a single off of Say It Like You Mean It. It took a long time to warm up to, but now it rarely leaves my listening rotation. Unless you listen, I mean really listen, to the instrumentals, they tend to drone on throughout the CD. However, if you do listen to them, you'll find a cornucopia of sounds not heard from bands in the same genre. Kenny Viasoli's vocal style, one of raw, tangible emotion, is well displayed on the album. And though it takes a lot of listening to comprehend, the lyrics are fulfilling and personal, rather than vague. Despite the lack of catchy hooks and quick one-liner's (if you like that kind of thing), Based On A True Story is definitely a cd for your collection.

 Great Sounding CD
I was introduced to this band by a girlfriend a while back and have been a loyal fan ever since. I think TSL's biggest strength and the quality that sets it apart from most other bands is that it's a band that succeeds in building a very unmistakable character which bleeds through in their music and lyrics. I felt that some songs were given more attention than others and therefore, would have given this cd a five star rating otherwise. If you want to try something new and think you might like this band I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

 meaning
i borrowed this cd from my sister so much she gave it to me..it's meaningful and tells a story because it has something to say...i find myself walking through the halls with the words in my head..it's a good feeling..i highly recommend it

 an amazing cd.
The starting line, is an incredibly talented band. they are by far my favorite. i have all of their cds...and when i got based on a true story, i was not disappointed. they have come a long way since 1999 and i love them. all four of those boys are gorgeous and amazing. and this cd...is absolutely amazing. i sing along to it and their songs always have great meaning behind them. the lyrics are incredible.

 Better then Say it Like You Mean It
This cd has by far exceeded my expectations. Say it like you mean it was an awesome cd, but this CD is even better. I highly reccomend this cd to anyone who loves good music.
