Following the success of Tattoos and Alibis, Ricky Warwick returned to the studio armed with a boatload of new songs and inspiration. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that his patron saint is one of hair metal's finest crooners, Def Leppard's Joe Elliot. Anyway, this 14-song offering is just what fans want and would expect from the man who learned to play guitar from listening to Johnny Cash records: alt country twists with bits of renegade folk, and drinking songs thrown in for good measure. Contributions from Elliot, Ian Hunter and Vivian Campbell help give Love Many, Trust Few a more polished sound than Tattoos and Alibis, and at times Warwick sounds like a younger, more rebellious version of Steve Earle. It's not trailblazing music by any means, but in terms of personal growth, it's a major step in the right direction. ~ Rob Theakston

| | Essential Clash CDs (2003) Remastered
Love Many, Trust Few
$15.95 It's somehow fitting that the first Clash collection to be released in the wake of frontman Joe Strummer's December 2002 death should be the closest anyone's ever come to a truly definitive non-box-set anthology. The two discs essentially work chronologically, starting out with a dose of old-school UK punk from the days when the Clash were messengers ...
| | Jimmy Webb Land's End CD (1974)
Love Many, Trust Few
$10.95 While it is safe to say that very few people have heard Land's End, it is also a safe bet that some have heard a track or two. Most notable is "Crying In My Sleep," on which Art Garfunkel does such a fine job. Some folks might also remember "Alyce Blue Gown," but all in all, the rest of the music here hasn't found a wide fan base. Webb has quite a number of famous friends along to help him in his musical vision, but when all is said and done, Land's End generally falls just a bit short of the runway. ~ James Chrispell
