Purchase Blue Corpse CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Eric Clapton Backless CD (1978) Remastered
Blue Corpse album
$6.49 Following the platinum success of SLOWHAND, BACKLESS continued Eric Clapton's transformation into a singer/songwriter with better-than-average chops after a lifetime of guitar godhood. Eschewing the star-studded cameos of NO REASON TO CRY, Clapton instead relied on his core group of the '70s: George Terry, Carl Radle, Jamie Oldaker, Dick Simms and Marcy Levy. Levy in particular, proved her worth by co-writing the slide-drenched "Roll It" with Slowhand. Her passionate testifying on this as well as her sparkling harmonies on the Don Williams-influenced "Promises" made up for fellow back-up singer Yvonne Elliman's departure following SLOWHAND's release.
Clapton's choice of composers to cover included Dylan ("Walk Out In The Rain," "If I Don't Be There By Morning"), J.J. Cale ("I'll Make Love To You Anytime") and Okie Danny Flowers ("Tulsa Time"). In addition, Slowhand added a nearly eight-minute ...

| | Joao Bosco 100a. Apresentaeao Ao Vivo CD (1983)
Blue Corpse songs
$22.35 In 1989, Joao Bosco, one of the true values of modern Brazilian popular music, commemorated 100 live performances with this release, and the title (the same as the recorded show) makes reference to that. After some failed attempts to be "contemporary" with plenty of electronics and reheated formulas in some of his previous albums, in this significant moment he preferred to go back to his early voz e violao (voice/guitar) days, performing with his sinuous, slimy voice accompanied only by his nervous, crackling violao. It's rewarding to see that he offers the show as a tribute to Dorival ...
| | Luther Thomas Banana: The Lost Session, 1973 CD (2002)
Blue Corpse album
$10.75 Made up of outtakes dating back to the Funky Donkey sessions, these are several lost songs that were only discovered during the 2001 remastering of the aforementioned album. Thomas had planned on releasing the album, but for whatever reason these songs remained buried for almost 20 years. Fans of Funky Donkey should try to give this a listen; there is a lot of material here that they would probably really enjoy. ~ Bradley Torreano

| | Aarktica Bleeding Light CD (2005)
Blue Corpse CD music
$12.39 A graduate of the music technology program at New York University, Jon DeRosa knows a thing or two about putting sounds together. Aarktica demonstrates DeRosa's penchant for experimental soundscapes more than the composer/musician's other, more straightforward projects (like the slow-core Americana outfit Pale Horse & Rider). BLEEDING LIGHT is the fourth Aarktica release, and continues DeRosa's explorations in droning, ambient post-rock.
There are lyrics and singing here, and semblances of traditional song structure, as on "OJ Gude," but these are sublimated to the overall sonic wash, becoming part of the textural canvas that stretches from the beginning to ...

$31.45 | | John Mcsherry Tripswitch CD (2006)
Blue Corpse music CDs
$14.49 Piper John McSherry (a founding member of the traditional Irish group Lúnasa) and fiddler Donald O'Connor have teamed up here for an album of traditional tunes with a difference. What you might expect is a typical romp through a program of uptempo reels and jigs, all of them played with blazing virtuosity, their energy broken only occasionally by a well-chosen slow air or song. Tripswitch is very different. While it does have its rollicking moments, the focus is on slower tunes played with a searching taste and musicality. The disc opens with a three-tune set consisting of the traditional march "Rose in the Gap" followed by two reels, "Old Dudeen" and "The First Month of Spring." The first two tunes in the set are played in a strangely deliberate and completely entrancing manner, and the third takes things out in a joyful sprint. The title track is a lovely slow reel written collaboratively by both players, while the "Sean Maguire's" set is all zippy energy: pay special attention to ...
