A wise, well thought sequel
I honestly loved the first 'Omen' (1976) starring Greggory Peck and the ever lovely Lee Remick and when it was foretold that there will be a sequel, I was extremely curious. I am really glad the film is finally on a Dvd and the story is excellent as well. Afterall its not just the horror, but also the emotional bond between each charecter. I honestly loved it.

Not as good as first, but scary
I have seen the first Omen movie and this one both a hundred times. The first was better because Damien was a small child and all of the deaths surrounding him were due to Satan beginning his reign. In the 2nd, all though good, it did not quite capture the amazing evil undertones of the original.

Wicked movie!!!!
I have just seen the Omen 2:Damien and thought it was class. The story line, the actors, the emotion in the film had you slipping of sofa thinking how do they do it. Jonathan scott taylors acting blew mw away. I am a 13 year old boy and most people would think that we would not like these sort of movies as it was made in 1978 but these Omen film's especialy Omen 2:Damien is a one to 2 watch.

Damien Omen II
Damien: Omen II film As far as I'm concerned, I was lucky enough to have been around "back in the day" when these types of movies were more phenomenal than they are today, and much more appreciated. Damien: Omen II review There was more of an element of class in actors back then that is sorely lacking today-which is one of the main reasons movies of this type will/can never be made again. Damien: Omen II DVD for sale The educational level, for one, is definately not the same. Plots of movies made sense, unlike today. The gothic and scary backdrops were more original than most horror sets used today so black and white movies and the introduction of color movies were definately more effective. Pts.1 & 2 were the best of the series. By the time pts.3 & 4 rolled around, (even though Sam Neill and Asia Vieira gave excellent performances), pts.3 & 4 just didn't hold up to pts.1 and 2. The other reason why these movies were more scary was the fact that we had more of a closeness with religion back then than we do today, so movies like this had much more of an profound disturbing effect on the movie audiences on that scary level like the movie "The Exorcist" had which scared many of those that believed and still believe in the powers of good vs. evil. The acting was immense from the opening of Bugenhagen in the cave with the foreboding Raven to Damien killing his parents in the museum in the end. Jonathan Scott Taylor was outstanding as was William Holden, Lee Grant and others. -in the same way Gregory Peck and Lee Remick were prior. The other actors in pts.1 & 2, Billie Whitelaw, Lance Henrickson, Patrick Troughton, Leo McKern, Meschach Taylor and Elizabeth Sheppard to name a few... you don't get any better than that sort of line up for this type of movie. It's unfortunate in reading some reviews that Jonathan Scott Taylor (Damien)did not get the credit he deserved. I don't know if that had to do with the topic of the movie, or what, but that was sad news after seeing such an awesome performance that many of us remember-especially for his age at the time. I don't know too many characters today that can play that type of role as effective as he did in late 70's early 80's. The story line was good. The music was absolutely compelling, scary enough where even today, you still can't sit through an audio tape of a black mass comfortably. As I said... this movie deserves no less than 5 stars here. In some instances, "The Omen Trilogy" was way better than "The Exorcist, and in some ways, "The Exorcist" was better than "The Omen." What is disheartening is to hear over and over how "The Omen" was a rip off of "The Exorcist." Both movies had the same type of content, but one was based on fact-a true story about a young boy who went through exorcism/the other more Biblical-based see your Book of Revelations in our Bible , but both were excellent movies in their own right. To say that it was a rip off, is wrong. You can't compare the two. In any event, I would recommend all movies-pts.1-4 to anyone. You must see all movies to understand theme.
