Bruce Willias, Kevin Pollak, Jonathan Tucker, and Ben Foster star. This well-made thriller harkens back to the gritty crime films of the 1970s. Bruce Willis plays Jeff Talley, a traumatized ex-LAPD hostage negotiator whose new career as small town sheriff doesn't turn out to be as restful as he had hoped; a hostage situation breaks out on "low crime Tuesday" and he is thrown right back into the business he knows all too well. Some punk kids have shot a cop and are holed up in a local mansion inhabited by crooked accountant Walter Smith (Kevin Pollak), his two kids, and a lot of surveillance cameras. Walter's young son (Jimmy Bennett) escapes his bonds and reports to Talley from the air shafts via his sister's cell phone. The sister--a Goth teen played by Michelle Horn--draws the romantic attention of Mars (Ben Foster), the pot-addled sociopath in the gang, thus adding a unique twist to the damsel-in-distress factor. Meanwhile, amid the buzzing helicopters and mobilizing S.W.A.T. teams, another group of bad guys has kidnapped Talley's wife and daughter, in order to force him to retrieve a secret disc in Walter's study. Florent Siri's efficient direction keeps the action flowing in unexpected directions while allowing for plenty of interesting procedural details and sly bits of humor. The score is ominous and the performances are strong, with Foster memorably creepy and Willis excellent as the frightened hero. Hostage was a really cool movie. Bruce Willis nailed it! His performace was so good. I bought this movie for my gradution gift after I grauted 8th Grade. I think that Hostage is one of the best movies that Bruce Willis starred in. I will give this movie an A+.

Good Action/Thriller Movie!
Bruce Willis is the man and the movie kicks major whoopin. Willis plays his role really well with so much emotion. I was really surprised with the whole concept. This is one of Willis better movies he has done in his career. The action in this movie is really good and will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire film. Great movie to add to your dvd collection. Bravo Bruce.

Good Entertainment!
This one was surprisingly good. Bruce Willis' best since the first Die Hard in my opinion. The plot was a little far-fetched, but the action was unrelenting. Michelle Horn provided plenty of eye candy as the Accountant's (Kevin Pollak's) daughter. Definitely worth a look.

American history gets a cool make-over in this Jerry Bruckheimer-produced comedic action thriller. Don Cheadle gives a riveting performance as Paul Rusesabagina, the manager of a European-owned hotel in Rwanda, who created a secret refugee camp for the Tutsi people during the brutal genocide committed against them by the Hutu people in 1994.
