It's a nice thing to see that Duck Down records is in effect. And this album is one of the best album this year. I like the production from 9th Wonder and the rugged flow from Buckshot, it truly is chemistry!

A Gem of an album
Buck-Shot & 9th Wonder truly do have "CHEMISTRY" no pun intendend, but this album really delivers with Buck-Shot unique rhyme style and 9th Wonder's dark soulful production. The two manage to blend their styles blessing the listeners with gems like "SIDE TALK", "THE GHETTO, FOOD FOR" THOUGHT and "NO COMPARISON" which was produced by Kyrsys . "CHEMISTRY" is a winner from beinning to end.

This has got to be the best collabo of the year. While the album could have been alot better it is still worth checkin out,especially with what's on the radio nowadays. Buckshot's lyrics don't break new ground but overall still strong. However, considering other albums, i expected more from 9th.
Regardless, check it out. You just might like it.

Real hip-hop stand up!!!
It's always good to see Buckshot in the spotlight after 12 years in the business, and with this colloabo album with Little Brother's 9th Wonder, the results are phenominal. From from start to finish, this album is hands down one of the underground's most incredible albums and may honestly be the only album to even come close to being on the same level as Common's redefining BE. All bias aside from me being one of Duck Down's all-time biggest fans, this really is a backpackers delight.

The Wu-Tang saga continues. Raekwon "The Chef" is already an irreplacable part of rap music's largest breed, the Wu-Tang Clan, but his debut proves him also capable of standing on his own two feet. On ONLY BUILT 4 CUBAN LINX..., Raekwon's street-tough lyrics spotlight the roughness of his everyday life and, combined with short story interludes, shape the plot for this gangster movie of an album.
The topics on CUBAN LINX are all Chef-centered braggadocio, and the beats constantly reflect the hip-hop underground. Raekwon defines the politics of the rap game on "Incarcerated Scarfaces," and invites any non-believers to test his skills. Joining Raekwon on just about every cut, fellow Clan-man Ghost Face Killer gives a great solo effort on "Wisdom Body."
In fact, CUBAN LINX bares closer resemblance to an actual Wu-Tang Clan album than any solo record by a Wu-Tang member. The backing track for "Guillotine (Swordz)" was previously introduced on Method Man's solo album TICAL, and Raekwon and his crew expand on it for a quick flashback. "Can It Be All So Simple" also returns--this time in a remixed form. These two songs, along with "Ice Cream" and "Wu-Gambinos" (both of which feature Method Man), should feed the habits of hungry Wu-fiends. Raekwon's chamber briefly escapes the Clan's musical borders on "Verbal Intercourse," and though the track evokes other Wu-Tang material, Nas' lyrical presence ...

Anybody familiar with traditional English folk music knows Waterson: Carthy is a true treasure of the genre, and on Broken Ground, they do very little to disparage that fact. In fact, if anything, they have continued to expand on their sound with the contributions of Saul Rose on melodeon, who truly goes some distance in filling out the sound that has been largely comprised of only an acoustic guitar and a fiddle. Once again, the arrangements here are exceptional, with Eliza Carthy emerging as an even more accomplished vocalist and violinist. From the gentle flow of "Raggle Taggle Gypsies" to the poignant "The Ditchling Carol," strong harmonies, memorable melodies, and hypnotic instrumentals make this collection engaging from start to finish. "The Bald Headed End of the Broom," which features the Phoenix New Orleans Parade Band, is a fine example of Waterson: Carthy's distinct ability to make music that is both studied and infectious. ~ Matt Fink

One of the positive effects of the Seagrams/Polygram merger is that several bands who had recorded for different labels--A&M and MCA in this case--during their careers, were able to release comprehensive career compilations now that one company controlled all of their master tapes. ANTHOLOGY is the first comprehensive Oingo Boingo compilation, and it makes the previous single-label efforts, SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET and BEST O' BOINGO, redundant.
Anthology includes previously unreleased tracks, remixes and live performances alongside well-known Oingo Boingo gems like "Ain't This the Life," "Private Lives," and "Where Do All My Friends Go." With a handful of tracks from Danny Elfman's 1984 solo album, this excellent two-disc set redefines Oingo Boingo for those who knew them only as "the new wave band Danny Elfman was in before he became a soundtrack composer."
