| | R Kelly TP.3: Reloaded CD (2005) Bonus DVD; Limited Edition
Greatest Hits CD music
$8.99 The rest of the album provides thirteen tracks of Kelly's typically strong and sensual modern R&B. He starts off the record with a reminder that he's far from a one-note artist, coming on as hard as anyone with the anthemic single "Playa's Club," then rolls into a 1970s groove with help from the always-spectacular Snoop Dogg on "Happy Summertime," before easing into a set of slow jams highlighted by the lusty "In the Kitchen" and the breezy "Slow Wind." As much as R. Kelly can't seem to stop getting himself into trouble, he also can't stop ...
| | Dirty Hood Stories CD (2005)
Greatest Hits music CDs
$15.05 Six years since their debut and with little mainstream notice, Dirty make their 2005 play for the big time by acting less like OutKast and more like true thugs on the ambitious Hood Stories. No doubt, this is a duo to root for. Dirty are scrappy and ambitious, and Hood Stories aims to be taken seriously with introspective tracks and political numbers playing a larger role than usual. It's admirable that "Git Cha Handz Off Me" addresses police violence and that the plaintive reflection ...
| | R. Kelly - Trapped In The Closet: Chapters 1-12 DVD (2005)
Greatest Hits songs
$9.69 Released on the eve of R. Kelly's court date, where he faced some serious charges and a very incriminating videotape, the first five chapters of the Closet Cycle confused, amazed, and delighted his fans. The entirety of the series, including all 12 chapters, is sure to have the same effect. Essentially an R&B soap opera, complete with the sets, lighting, convoluted ...

| | Devin The Dude Just Tryin' Ta Live CD (2002) Edited
Greatest Hits songs
$15.65 On JUST TRYIN' TA LIVE, Devin the Dude presents himself as a streetwise hip-hop artist who's got enough pop smarts to make his music accessible to the general public, but enough credibility to keep things on the real side. Though JUST TRYIN' TA LIVE is laced with infectious production touches, crips, hard-hitting beats, and visceral synth hooks, the main attraction, quite rightly, is Devin's rhyming skills. Without belaboring his points, he manages to get them across with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of skill.
Reminiscent of other great storytellers like Slick Rick, Devin the Dude is a true gift to laid-back Southern rap. This is his first real solo LP, and he didn't do it alone, given the presence of Raphael Saadiq, Xzibit, Nas, and Pooh Bear, and a couple of appearances by the Odd Squad. It's obvious that Devin put a lot of soul into this album, and it shows through in deep and reflective stories that evolve slowly throughout the tracks. Most of the songs are rather humorous, such as "R & B," which would seem to be about rhythm & blues, but it's really about Devin's need for reefer and beer. "Lacville '79" follows: it's one of the smoothest tracks on the LP. Again hitting some comedy notes ("I'm rollin', car not stolen, prolly never will be, it's much too olden"), Devin continues to tell a story about how he's happy with his girlfriend because she didn't mind pushing the car when it stopped working. The track titled "Who's That Man, Moma" is equally amusing. The beats on this disc are smooth and funky; they make for ...

This is a Super Audio CD playable only on Super Audio CD players.
In 1964, when this concert at New York City's legendary Copacabana night club was recorded, Sam Cooke was at the top of his game, having charted numerous times with his unique blend of pop and soul. The success doesn't seem to have gone to his head, though: he sounds relaxed and conversational throughout this intimate performance.
Accompanied by a band that includes Bobby Womack on guitar, Cooke brings his R&B tendencies further to the fore than on his immaculately produced studio work. He moves deftly through his own hits, like "You Send Me" and "Twistin' The Night Away," but it's on the folk songs "If I Had A Hammer" and "Blowin' In The Wind" that he really stretches out, proving himself a gifted interpreter unbound by stylistic constrictions. AT THE COPA is an essential part of the Cooke canon.
In 1964, when this concert at New York City's legendary Copacabana night club was recorded, Sam Cooke was ...
