| Running Like The Wind Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Good Memories Much to my dismay, I only had one opportunity to see Marshall Tucker in concert, and it was on the Runnin Like The Wind tour. I was so impressed with these guys for 2 reasons: First, they didn't stop playing to share their views on life, in fact, Toy Caldwell took a moment to apologize for the lack of talking to the crowd because they had too many song they wanted to perform to waste the time. Secondly, they were tireless, giving us 4 curtain calls! We might have gotten a fifth, but the arena personnel turned on the lights before they got off backstage the last time. This was one of the greatest concerts I have ever had the honor of attending. The title cut is worth the price of the entire album, and this is a great album to play while relaxing and forgetting the worries of the day. You will not regret having this one in your collection. OMG! What a blast from the past. I just happened upon this album again after 30 years. I was in high school when it came out and I can't believe I forgot about it. I used to be a pretty hard rocker but it's music like this, deep from my background, that has made me a big Whiskeytown, Jayhawks, etc. fan. Buy this album! Favorite from a BIG fan. Being a longtime MTB fan, and owning just about every LP/CD the original band recorded, this is without a doubt my favorite. "Running With the Wind" eclipces "Carolina Dreams". It is an overlooked piece of music from this band, one that sounds better as the years go by. I recommend this as an addition by any MTB fan if they have never heard it, or to anyone who enjoys country-rock which allows other musical influences to add and enhance the sound, but, never detract from it. Give it a listen. Submitted by TG (Marysville, Oh.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Does a member of the band belong to him? What’s his name? Does he need the glasses, or is he just trying to look cool? Here’s the scoop…We were working on our debut record during the summer of 1999. Also that summer, we were honored and slap-happy to be invited to play at the 30-Year Reunion Concert at Yasgur’s Farm. Not at the actual site of the 1969 Woodstock Concert, that parcel of land was down the road a spell. A couple named Roy Howard and Jeryl Abramson had bought the farm years before from Max and Miriam Yasgur, and had been welcoming musicians and campers for years, especially on the middle weekend each August. But 1999 was a big year, and so they built a stage ...

Running Like The Wind MP3 Album
$17.09 Brian Gowan was raised in Temple, Texas under the influence of country music superstars Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and George Strait. Even at an early age Brian discovered he had a gift for words. He began filling up his notebooks with songs and ideas. This pattern of "distraction" continued all the way through college. "Maybe if I had taken better notes in class I'd be a doctor or scientist now, but I guess it worked out all right." Brian moved to Nashville in 1988 to go to Belmont University. "It's a miracle I graduated from college, like so many other music business majors I was out working in the business most of the time. I missed a lot of class." Gowan interned at CBS Records, Capitol Records, and Tour Management Booking to name just a few. The internship at Tour Management Booking led to an introduction to Vin Maddox who was handling the merchandising account for Waylon. "Vin needed someone to go down to Texas and sell merch for Waylon. He was playing at Billy Bob's; I jumped at the chance and wound up doing that for a little over a year. I'd shut the stand down and watch the show every time I could." Before he even received his diploma from Belmont University, he had signed his first publishing deal with Evanlee Music. "Kent Blazey, owner of Evanlee Music and writer of numerous hits for Garth Brooks, Clay Walker and many other acts took me under his wing. He taught me how to write commercial songs." To make ends meet Brian had to supplement his publishing draw. "I worked for a pressure washing company that had the Postal Service contract. I bet I washed every postal truck in Nashville rain or shine, sleet ...
