Aulis Sallinen: Symphony No. 8; Violin Concerto
$12.65 Stuart Weber's sure touch on classical guitar is clearly apparent on his production Hired Man's Dream. Weber's music paints Montana country in sound: its majestic rivers, mountains, prairie fires and its people. With impeccable technique and a poet's sensitivity, Weber creates stunning audio vignettes and emotional landscapes. This unaccompanied guitar album is unlike any other solo virtuoso performance: stringed tone poems of superlative beauty. ~ MusD
In 'Hired Man's Dream,' Weber's original classical guitar compositions recreate Montana's landscape in music, from the cowhand dreaming by the Missouri to the vast star-studded sky above. Some whimsical, some nostalgic, these haunting guitar solos will claim and settle the territory of your mind.Stuart Weber is among a new breed of classical guitarist, one of today's prophetic players shaping the future of the instrument. He performs the classics with uncompromising virtuosity while his original compositions interpret the natural environment with inspired reverence and sensitivity. Born in the Northern Rocky Mountains, Weber's passion for the land equals his passion for the guitar. These forces created an imaginative and distinctly talented musician. His formal training began at 26 when he embarked on a fruitful apprenticeship with legendary American guitarist Christopher Parkening. In this fertile setting, Weber's fresh, innovative style gained classical sensibilities. Under the guidance of his mentor and nurtured by Montana's long winters, Weber refined his technique and artistry. Weber's concerts are versatile and intimate. While embracing the beauty of the existing classical guitar repertoire, he is expanding the body of work by premiering his own elegant transcriptions. Stuart Weber's original compositions draw out the unique character of the West, earning him a reputation as an artist of musical landscapes. The Denver Post praised Weber as "a Western original," and the Christian Science Monitor writes, "There is a depth of expression, even passion, both for the instrument's possibilities and for the music."Mr. Weber has appeared as guest artist with symphony orchestras and chamber groups, and has collaborated with several renowned soloists, both in the studio and on the concert stage. In addition to five highly acclaimed recordings on Bridger Records, Stuart Weber shares his talents with young people through his Master Classes and school presentations, engaging students in the art and beauty of the classical guitar.

Aulis Sallinen: Symphony No. 8; Violin Concerto
$11.39 Fusing vocals with ambient streams and pulses, ANDREW SHAPIRO creates a sound world that, according to New Music Box magazine, "blends the minimalist influence of Philip Glass with the moody pop sensibility of '80s New Wave."Shapiro grew up in Larchmont, NY and later studied composition at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. During an internship at Philip Glass's studio, Shapiro developed an instinct to merge classical and popular sensibilities after observing Glass do the same with his manuscripts.June 2006 marks the release of Shapiro's second EP Quiet Kissing, an eclectic mixture of neo-'80s pop, longing ambient textures and solo piano. Shapiro's recording debut, Invisible Days (2003) was named one of the "Top 12" individually produced recordings of the year by Performing Songwriter magazine. Other recordings include his keyboard performances Piano Solo and Soundesign (Ambient Electronic). Shapiro performs as a soloist, with his group Airbox and composes for a variety of noteworthy film and theater projects. He can also be heard performing his solo piano music at McDonald's in downtown Manhattan Sundays throughout the year. Shapiro received an extensive profile in the Sunday New York Times headlined "Quarter Pounder With Keys" (May 2005) and was featured as the "Best Pianist in a Fast-Food Restaurant" in the "Best of New York" issue of the Village Voice (2005). Shapiro lives. For more information, mp3s and images visit http:// andrewshapiro .
