Tommy Lee Jones plays a tough-as-nails Texas Ranger assigned to protect five fiery and feisty cheerleaders in this fast-action, school-spirited comedy. Cedric the Entertainer also stars. A startling mixture of giggling T&A, old man/young girl bonding, bloody violence, and gross-out humor, this drama-action-comedic soufflé could comes courtesy director Stephen Herek (MISTER HOLLAND'S OPUS, THE MIGHTY DUCKS). Cedric the Entertainer has a great bit as an ex-con who helps the ladies with some hip hop dance moves. Anne Archer plays the ranger's older love interest. And the lascivious, multi-ethnic lovelies are played by Christina Milian, Kelli Garner, Monica Keena, Paula Garces, and Vanessa Ferlito.
Tommy Lee Jones stars in this action-comedy as a tough old Texas Ranger who winds up babysitting a squadron of cheerleaders when they inadvertently witness a gangster's murder. His no-nonsense ways clash with the girls' fun-filled lifestyle at first: he makes them wear seatbelts, confiscates their cell phones, beats up on any guy who comes near them (including an awestruck pizza delivery boy) and makes sure no one sneaks out of the house on dates. Eventually he discovers the girls aren't as ditzy as they first appear. They get him to loosen up a little, and even help him to patch things up with his neglected daughter (Shannon Marie Woodward). Meanwhile a crooked federal agent is out the send the girls to an early grave. MAN OF THE HOUSE was filmed in and around the University of Texas. Man Of The House review
$9.69 In this American remake of the 1977 French farce "Pardon Mon Affaire," Teddy Pierce (Gene Wilder) is a happily married man who gets into hot water when he becomes attracted to a beautiful model (Kelly Le Brock). He begins to pursue the "woman in red" as his married buddies -- who are each unfaithful to their own wives -- cheer him on. Teddy's attempts to woo the model without his family finding out causes some comic confusion -- and making the situation even more chaotic is a female coworker who is attracted to Teddy and begins to pursue him. Also featured is a top-of-the-charts soundtrack performed by Stevie Wonder and Dionne Warwick, including the Academy Award-winning song, "I Just Called To Say I Love You."
