Prey Of The Chameleon video
$10.19 The title of this 1961 release best sums up this quartet album. There is nothing particularly innovative about this recording, but the level of expertise and musical maturity displayed here is truly astonishing. This is simply straight-ahead hard bop performed by some of the finest musicians in 1960s jazz, including saxophonist David "Fathead" Newman and pianist Wynton Kelly.
Newman's playing is not only confident, it is unbelievably inspired. He rips through all six selections here, employing the great bebop vernacular developed by Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. Newman plays tenor, alto, and flute on STRAIGHT AHEAD, providing some variation to this set. Newman's flute work on his composition "Night of Nisan" is particularly energetic, as is his alto solo on his bluesy "Congo Chant." The highlight of the record, ...

$24.59 Michael T. Weiss stars as Jarod Russell in this popular TV drama from the late 1990s. Discovered to be a genius as a small child, Jarod was kidnapped and brought up, along with many other children like him, at the enigmatic facility known only as "The Centre." There, they were trained to use their capacities for brilliance to adopt personas and jobs as fit their purposes. The children could assume the identities of doctors, lawyers, police officers, or pilots, virtually adopting any occupation at will and with chameleon-like ease. Eventually, however, Jarod discovered the fact that his simulations were not necessarily being used for good, but were being sold to the highest bidder; disturbed, he made his escape. A grown man now, he searches for his parents while using his talents to right the wrongs that he encounters along the way. He also works hard ...

For years, they have kept a truce with mysterious creatures in the woods by vowing never to breach a clearly defined border. However, when a young man (Joaquin Phoenix) becomes determined to explore the nearby towns, his actions are met with menacing consequences.
Shyamalan continues his remarkable streak of entrancing and entertaining thrillers (THE SIXTH SENSE, UNBREAKABLE, SIGNS) with THE VILLAGE. A meticulous filmmaker, Shyamalan displays his penchant for setting up a fascinating atmosphere in every aspect of the movie, from its distinctive color scheme to its intentionally genteel dialogue ...
